So you think a 17 year old has "brains"?  Compared to what?  a rock?

It sounds to me like your 23, and haven't really done anything with your life.  You probably still live in the same town you went to high school in.

We call these people "high school hall-of-famers", because they work unskilled, minimum wage jobs and will be born, raised, and die within a 10 mile radius.  Never really doing anything with their life except dating immature 17 year olds.

I'm 23 and my g/f of 4 years is 18. She was driving (not legally) and looked much older when I met her. Because of the fact that she was driving and looked mature I really thought she was around 16. We went out on a few dates and we really liked each other but I feared that she was to young. I was 18.5 at the time and was iffy about dating someone that I thought was 16. After about a week of talking, going out I finally asked her how old she really was and she had just turned 14... I was kind of pissed that she had led me on. I broke things off with her and told her "maybe in 4 years".

The next day I got a phone call and it was her dad. I just knew she had made up some shit and I was going to jail. Instead her dad was calm, nice and asked me to come over for dinner. I agreed and we talked about things over dinner. Her mom and dad explained that they had met at a similar age and didn't have a problem with it if we wanted to date.

We have been together for 4 years now. I still can't believe how mature she was at such a young age. Her friends are still not as mature at 18 as she was at 14. If I were you I would talk to her parents about it and see what they have to say about it. If they tell you that you can't date her then just wait until she's 18 and do it anyway. She's close enough to being legal that they are dumb IMO if they try to stop it.

I'm 24 and I have never found a 17 or 18 year old that I would consider dating, she isn't even out of high school so she's still involved with all of that drama. Think of how much you've changed in the few years since you got out of high school, hell I've changed so much just in the past year that people would say I'm not even the same person. Maybe I'm just getting old enough that I want to have intelligent conversations with a girl who's on my level as opposed to mindless sex, if you do date it won't last.

Sleep with her? Maybe. Date? No.

Not all girls are the same. Not all of them are caught up in the high school drama bullshit. Most are, but that doesn't mean all are.

I'm happy with my g/f even though I wouldn't consider dating any of her immature friends. Give it a try, if she is to immature then at least you won't have to wonder.
