Ps Cyanescens pinning invitro
    #867835 - 09/06/02 06:41 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

Readily pinning invitro on alder and beech - someone once told me that this is possible after a couple of monthes - i left the litre bag in some diffuse light for only about two hours and its pinning like mad after one month tops. These are not just pins, but actual primordia with a visible cap.

Well, you could always FedEx a jar to me.  I don't mind taking pictures with my camera and posting the results for you..

After the birght light of the scanner has past it by... the mycelia will say in unison, "... WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?"

I thought bright light confuses mycelia... that only a little bit of light is actually needed to tell which way to grow...

although they are pinning, i doubt that it will be worth actually trying to fruit these indoors - ill use the jar to spawn more wood chips rather than fruit it, so the scanner should harm too much. Im assuming that these will abort either way

Please tell us what temperatures have been for the last few weeks. It's good to know that a 1 litre size can initiate fruiting. I was worried that my totes weren't going to be big enough but mine are about 7 litres mass now. We're just starting to get the cooler temperatures next week and I wanted to put them outside then but I was worried they were too small. I might just get some mushrooms this fall.

temps varying between 10C to 18C - sometimes a little lower. Their only pinning not fruiting, so the amount of substrate may not be too significant. Suffice to say that im hoping to trebble it atleast before organising the bed for next autumn
