P. Cyan incubation
    #659300 - 06/02/02 03:38 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

Does anybody know the optimal temperature for incubating P. cyanescens(not pan cyan). And also besides alder chips, what types of wood will this species grow on?

Good bye.

The incubation temperature for P. cyanescens and other similar wood inhabiting species(like P. azurescens, P. bohemica...) is 65-75?F.

Any hardwood will work and even spruce and douglas fir.

I found some wonderful fine fir bark chips in the reptile section of the pet store. They use it to humidify the terrariums. I also got some Aspen shavings used as pet litter. They specifically stated no volatile oils, which I gather is good. I read they specially like shavings like those that come from planeing. I haven't used either one yet because I am just at the cardboard stage. I will try a few different things to see which ones they seem to like. Mine are growing slow but steady at 70f.
