It's good you like stoichiometry because you'll be using it forever if you plan to continue with chemistry or pretty much any kind of biology.

Your one of the few!  Im a chem major and everyone looks at me like im crazy when I tell them.  Its really not as impossible or boring as many people seem to think, I love it.

Oh man, wait till you get to thermodynamics in Chem II. I hated that shit.

wow, I'm a chem major, and I hated stoicheometry.

I never really gave a sit about all those inorganic reactions with five thousand ligands and shit... who cares?

I like knowing who to make stuff and why the world is as it is...

Like why water is liquid, why we breathe oxygen and not, say, nitrogen or helium, why salt melts snow, and why metals act the way they do...

I hated chemistry which is why I went into behavioral pharmacology.

After all, its the end result (the behavior) the matters.

What!  Man, thermo is awesome... so many philosophical implications based on empirical fact.

Thermodynamics is the most successful theory in history!

EDIT-
Anyway Im gonna be an ass and say it, hopefully get some hate ... what makes chemistry anything but a lesser physics?  It filled with adhoc rules and cookbook formulas.

I am fascinated by chemistry but have never really gotten into it. Most science fascinates me even if I don't really have an outlet to learn it.

Psychology is my favorite science and I was quite a good student of it in college.

I've only taken AP chem as far as chemistry goes, but my teacher threw us a bunch of oddball redox reactions year round "in prep for the test," and I was full of fail and learned to hate em as well.  When the real test came around, all the formulas on there were like duh, basic, standard, formulas.  I was fucking livid.  Got a five on that shit though.

Well isn't that the hierarchy of science? You know, math==>physics==>chem==>bio==>... social sciences?

I loved chemistry at uni. But I also hated the thermochemistry section! Frickin' delta G!

Well, the thing about bio is that is studies things that cannot be reduced to physics.  This justifies its existence as a separate field.  However chemistry can be reduced to physics.  That wasn't always the case so that is how the separation started, I surmise.  In the past they seemed more separate, and have only been unified in the twentieth century... but old institutions still remain.

I saw your comment on the document I posted about Subbs in the garden.

I'm lousy on forums and message boards. I've never used them.
All I can tell you is that my member name is salvia888.

Hope you can reach me with that.

Yes, chemistry can be reduced to physics.  But without some pretty advanced physics, you're not going to know a priori how to get from A to B given X pool of possible reagents.

Personally, I found the stoichiometry boring.  Thermodynamics was where things got interesting.  And molecular biochemistry is a pretty interesting field, being so much in its infancy.

I'm going to agree with this one.

Physics is the most fundamental science (well, that and mathematics)...The principles established through physics are cornerstone of our entire understanding of the universe .
