Dr.J I don't know.  Is that the only difference in your eyes? Love seems so complicated sometimes.  We ought to have more words for it in our language.  It is too frustruating.  It seems as if we are talking about two different things.  :confused:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with sleeping around if a person is single and takes precautions... I don't quite know why a lot of people still seem to see it as such a negative thing, it's only sex after all, it doesn't harm anyone.

no problem, really. I was just pointing out that people who sleep around a lot often do a lot of emotional damage to both themselves and others, whether they realize it or not.

Firstly, a slut isn't someone who uses sex to get what they want... that's a whore. A slut is someone who has sex with multiple partners regardless of how they feel about it. (that's just me talkin though)

Secondly, I think it IS possible to love more than one person at once, although a few years ago I probably wouldn't have thought so. Not that anything has changed, really, but I just think it is. Love is such a complicated emotion that its hard, if not impossible, to say what REALLY causes it. I mean, everyone in here has at some point been "in love" with someone, and 3 months later realized it wasn't really love. Was it though? Nothing says that love can't fade, and nothing says that love has to last X amount of time to be real. I think the real key to the difference between love and lust in the ineffable part. You lust after someone because they dress a certain way, or have a nice ass or something, but when you love someone, its hard to know why.

On a final note.. as anyone ever read the book "Kink" by Kathe Koja. Its about a sort of 3 way relationship. Pretty good book, you should check it out.

So many good points have been brought up. I'm very touchy about the whole slut whore debate. I've been called both and I don't see myself as either. I became sexual late in my teenage life and after I discovered it I couldn't get enough of it. I wasn't seeing anyone inparticular but I had a ball and had alot of fun. It wasn't until recently that it was because I craved manly attention.
Its hard to decipher whats what and why we do things but I do know that because I was single probably the only person I was hurting was myself. I have however found someone I loved very much, it felt like it was going to be forever though and that scared me so we broke up. I think we're still basically together but we've taken to seeing other people. We don't love these other people we're seeing, and we really don't need to.
I don't really remember where I was going with this... this get away from me when I start talking personal. Give me a second.. I'll gather my thouhgts.


Oh Yes!
I remember, if you truly love your girlfriend then she needs to know about what your feeling. Its fine for 2 consenting people to see other people and NOT have it be "whorey or slutty". However don't just expect that she'll be cool with it because she may not be and thats the consequence.

Okay I'm done for now. Sorry about my little ramblings, never would have guessed I was an english major before photography huh? lol
