I don't think the idea was that chasing your shrooms with some juice makes them stronger.

But extracting your psiloc(yb)in into lemon juice and dosing that will make the effects more intense and briefer in duration.

Ok, I've been lurking here for a while, but I just tried this experiment and I had to respond with my first real post.

Two weeks ago a friend and I took 1g each of dried cubes and had a very pleasant, but mild, trip. I'd rate it just above a level 1. The dose was chopped up rather fine and taken on an empty stomach. I washed mine down with some root beer and my friend just drank a lot of water.

Preparation:
Today we took the leftover mushrooms from the same batch and tried the lemon experiment. We used slightly less mushroom this time, .9 grams each (weighed on a scale accurate to .05 grams). It was chopped fine again, and marinated in the juice of 1.5 fresh lemons for each dose. It soaked for about an hour as we made our way to our destination. Once again, we took it on an empty stomach and this time we both washed it down with some Gatorade.

Effects:
Unfortunately, I didn't pay very close attention to the time, but the first effects started noticeably quicker. Patterns were beginning to move within a minute or two of noticing the first body effects. The closed eye visuals were amazing. Watching the clouds was infinitely entertaining as well (I could make them disappear and reappear at will). The feeling of pleasure was very intense and lasted the entire trip. At times it was actually too intense and I would have to focus on something else to take a break from it. I'd say all in all it was a strong level 3 trip. Unfortunately I can't say when the peak hit, though it seemed to last forever. In reality, I was fairly close to baseline again after about 4 hours. It's been 7 hours and I still feel great. I'm hoping the afterglow lasts for a while.

Conclusion:
I was actually fairly suspect that the lemon juice would work as well as many people have claimed. However, since we used mushrooms from the same batch, taken in the same manner (besides the lemon juice) each time, and both experienced at least double the intensity from a slightly smaller amount, I would have to say that this definitely worked. The duration was shorter, which I knew to expect, but I was actually ready for the trip to be over when it finished. I also feel like I hastened the comedown and that I could have prolonged the trip a little if I had desired to. To sum up, the experiment was a complete success for me and my friend. I may not chose to use the lemon method every time, but I would be stupid to not use it most of the time.

My experience:

Three weeks ago:
Ate 2 grams (dried) of mushrooms that had been grown the week before. These were simply eaten with peanut butter.
Fairly weak experience. Definitely some of the worst mushrooms I've had in a long time.
Come up took about an hour and a half to reach the peak.
Visuals were very minor and next to no CEVs. Mental load was small and really only an uplifted mood could be noticed. The trip lasted about 5 hours.


Two weeks ago:
Same batch of mushrooms from the same cake. Again, 2 dried grams. This time the mushrooms were soaked in two shot glasses full of lemon juice, from a freshly juiced lemon. The mushrooms were soaked for an hour.
The shots were downed one after another.
The feelings of coming up came on almost instantly -- within 5 minutes.
Reached the peak within an 45 minutes.
Visuals were strong. Often, there was a reminder of how it felt to be on 5 grams. The air seemed to be moving in front of me. The mental load was intense and left me anxious due to the velocity of the effects.
Unfortunately, the peak lasted all of a half hour before there was a noticeable come down. Visuals calmed very quickly.
I could feel no noticeable effects after three hours of ingestion.


I would have to say this definitely works. The effects are certainly amplified and trip comes on very fast.
Unfortunately, the trip is almost cut in half. The peak lasts much shorter and the 'curve' of the trip is far more steep.

I personally would never do it again because I like my experiences to last, but if you have some bad shrooms and know you won't get much of a trip out of them, this method is effective at getting the most out of them.

Well guys, I just soaked 3.5g of dried cubes in about 40ml of pure lemon juice. I'm going to see how this potentiation works... i'm a little scared. i've only done 3.5g once before and it was eaten plainely. I'm nervous to see how strong this will be... if its 2x potentiation im screwed... 7g cubensis!?! o_0... excited but worried.

Citric acid speeds up digestion, which therefore enhances affects x5 in the brain.

That is also why it is a much shorter experience..

Any source on citric acid being the cause here? I was under the impression citric acid wasn't as effective as the lemon juice by a fair bit.

Also, I think x5 is a huge exaggeration of the potentiation. I think it's more like 1.5 or 2x. The experience is shortened though, which can be nice IME.

I had 2 small shrooms, and 2 tiny shrooms, not dried, cut them up put them into the lemon juice, let it sit for 30mins then drank up wasn't bad at all. took about an hour and a bit to come on and lasted for maybe 4-5 hours. Did not expect much to happen at all. I'd say level 2 trip.

Tried it another time With store bought lemon juice, and this did not have the same effect, more shrooms were used as well.

So I think fresh lemons is the way to go!

I took two grams of shrooms soaked in lemon juice for 15 minutes.

The trip was INSANELY short. I was pretty well done tripping after an hour an a half. Long comeup, REALLY short peak, then a long comedown.

It was cool - time slowed down crazily at my peak, and I sort of blacked out. I'd definitely do it again sometime.

I just thought, how about making shroom tea with no water and just using lemon juice? haha thats something to think about i reckon!

Also I'm doing 1 gram in lemon juice soon will post my conclusions! :smile:

uhm guys.. it doesnt intensify anything.. all the citric acid does is it helps the psilocybin to be washed out of the mushroom tissue. that way the body can metabolize it faster. the trip beeing a bit shorter might be because the whole dose is beeing soaked up at once rather than beeing taken on by the stomach bit by bit.

if the trip lasts too short just drop about half the taken dose ontop right after peaking.

try this: get a nice dry red wine, pour yourself a glass, grind up some mushrooms so that they will be big enuff not to fall thru a tea seave. then hang the dose into that glass for half a day or so. shake the seave a little every half an hour or so.

wine contains alot of acid. try and go for one which is a little more acidic than others.. ask your local wine dealer for a wine to fit your needs.

i once threw 3grams cubensis in a glass of red wine and i had a really nice time.. make your wine a bit more potent than the dose you normally would use and drink it slowly.. jus like you would drink it if there were nothing else in it. youll have a really smooth onset and a really long afterglow. i left the mushrooms in the wine.. i just had the wine.

trips tend to get more agressive when you eat too much at a time. a good trip takes time to establish.. mushrooms should be eaten slowly.

just try to experiment with how the trip turns out to be if you eat em faster or slower. eating em slower also lets most of the alkaloids absorb thru the mouths tissue.. that way you wont get as much of a strange feeling in the stomach.

woww! I took 2 grams of dried powdered mushies about three months ago. it did zilch for me. Same batch i flew high on 8 and 4g trips separately since then. last night... I put 2 grams of same in one half a lemon's juice and a lime's. (couldn't get any blackcurrant juice at midnight) let it soak over 20 minutes.

Wow.

good level 3/4 trip, spoke to some gods! No shit! lasted longer than I did. (by the time it wore off i was totally tired anyway)

I realized 4 things on this trip

1. That good and evil only exist with respect to respect of others' rights, 2. I was put here on earth to learn said respect, 3. I was given the gift of speaking the truth (like, last night, by a god whose name starts with "T" and ends with "atl") and 4. My mission from here on out is to replace fear with love in the people around me. Oh yeah, and I was given a name, but i'll keep that personal...

Oh, and "T" says that so many people pray and are disappointed because they seek the wrong things. They want someone to come and fix their problem. What they need is to seek to be friends to their neighbors and seek humility like that of chief Seattle, who said that man belongs to the earth.

Ok, so i have about 1.4 grams of dried subs that have been sitting in 2 lemons worth of juice for over 30 mins...  Its 4.15 a.m... i cant sleep.. and i have some pertinent questions about my life direction that i need answered.. somebody say 'i dare you'
