Why does my nose hurt the day after I drink?

Almost every time I drink a lot the night before, I always wake up and my nose hurts. It's like a lot of tension / pressure right across the bridge of my nose, like inside the cartridge.

I don't think it's my sinuses. Why the hell does it hurt?

cause you pop off at the mouth while drinking then you get smacked but can never remember the next day cause you drink so much.

Nah, it's directly related to alcohol. I'm drinking another beer right now and the pressure is increasing.

And I'm familiar with sinus pressure. This isn't very consistent with it.

Alcohol consumption causes dilation of capillaries and they can burst, specifically at your cheeks and nose.

I looked it up and Rosacea is commonly associated with redness and swelling of the nose and cheeks.

I have none of that. Just pain like I walked into a door or something...

How would you know if you did or did not have Rosacea?
For one, I'd be willing to bet you're not even old enough to have reached an age of determination.

The Gin Blossom effect occurs with or without Rosacea. However, if one were to suffer from Rosacea then the condition you are describing, telangiectasias, would definitely be more pronounced when drinking alcohol.

My sinuses are always fucked after a night of heavy drinking... they'll be all dry in the nostrils and immediate sinuses but this thick nasty tasting drainage is always in the back of my throat... I think its from breathing alcohol vapors out my nose in my sleep all night irritating my sinus lining...

I forgot to say that my sinuses used to CONSTANTLY hurt... I think it's from living right off a major highway... all that road dust and whatnot.

anyway, I found that using this stuff called "simple saline" that comes in like a aerosol can thing really help irrigate your sinuses.



It's kinda expensive, $6 for a bottle that'll last a week, but I swear by the stuff.

I'm sure a neti kettle is just as effective... but I like the force of the aerosol in simply saline.
