So anyone every try to understand the writings of jim morrison im particular the American prayer. in all honesty i think it was way to complex for people to understand he knew that it was his job to say it so he did what he did as a result of not being able to fully communicate his purpose. in a similar fashion to syd barrett, tho i dont think syd really understood his message at all and that was why his decline was so much more brutal

Morrison was a fantastic poet, most of his writings are pretty much just random ramblings from a drugged mind IMO.
I love The Doors and have a few of morrisons books and really havent understood much of his poetry..
I do not have An American Prayer but would love to get my hands on it.
As for Syd, Well I love Pink Floyd also but do not know alot about them or Syd, I do have alot of his early recordings and I have to say that they are pretty strange, but thats what I like, so its all good.
I have to say that its very sad that we lost the two of them, as both were great in there own ways.

still a drugged mind has a source and thats the point im making a subconscious set free is still one set free. unless he was just a telepathic puppet. i had a subconsious group drawing session and it was awesome. eveyones look at the final thing could so be explained in words and it was the touching it with their conscious and really seeing what the true extent of their and the people around them's subconscious was thinking

American prayer wasn't new shit, very old, as old as human culture. He was talking about the matrix culture we are trapped in and then took it out of culture and into the Universal mind. Trapped by the survival needs of our nature. He preferred a "feast of friends" to the human family. American prayer is a beautiful piece of work.

Barret had some very serious issues. Drugs didn't help and may have caused/triggered his problems. Most of his songs were strange (solo). I do find Bike an amusing song. I think David Gilmour and Roger Waters is why Americans know who Pink Floyd is.
