clearing a room of negative energy

i need to clear my room of negative energies, usually i place a bowl of sea salt in the middle to absorb them but i had a friend tell me he uses a smudge stick and i want to try this method out. i don't have one of these but i do have alot of incense, would that work instead?

As there is no known way to measure 'negative energy' (whatever-the-fuck that is), then I ask you:

1. How do you know there is NE in your room?

2. How will you know that NE has been removed/diminished?

you know guys some people consider "enlightenment" and dmt "entities" just as hard to swallow but theyre still a possibility.

so soundform i dont really know much of the subject but.. when i was a kid and strongly believed in such things, a pair of shishi dogs always worked for me.

OC, the feeling may be more important here than trying to figure out what "negative energy" really is. The OP is not asking for proof of existence-- he's already experiencing it. The question how he can work with this energy and make changes in his environment that have the potential to benefit him is more relevant here IMHO.

some people are more susceptable to picking them up, with a little bit of practice you can learn how to tune in and pick up on sublte energies. i'm not really interested in their origin. if you understand understanding you begin to see you don't really need to have an explanation for everything (especially a scientific one seeing as modern science is very flawed). we didn't believe radiation or microwaves existed until we invented some technology to show us. i suspect this energy is electromagnetic in nature but like i said this isn't really something i'm interested in.

how do i know there is no negative energy in my room? i can feel it, the same way i feel negative energy drawn away from me when using certain crystals. that's how i know it's gone aswell, i can no longer feel it's presence.

you might say you don't feel these changes and you might never feel them at all. the ways the human brain works is a tremendous amount of power is placed in faith (both conscious and unconscious), until you can overcome this obstacle you will be a prisoner of your own mind and be susceptable to the conditioning of your perceptions by others.

refurnishing the room is a healthy method. i have no personal experience with salt or scents myself, but refurnishing is very effective in altering energy patterns in a room. changing the color of the walls is another potent method but is not always needed. look into the science of feng shui.

this will be at a friends house so i'm not going to be able to do any serious rearranging, but thanks for the help :smile:

my plan right now is to make sure the room is clean and remove any negative objects, then if i can't use the incense i'll place the sea salt in the middle and take it out of the room. i also plan on placing a crystal in each corner and setting up a bit of a shrine in the center of the room.

i recently picked up a phurba (a ritual dagger used in tibetan buddhism and shamanism) from a friend and was told it's used in a number of rituals to ward off evil spirits and get rid of negative emotions. i'm doing some research now into various rituals and seeing if there's anything i could do next week with it.

knowledge has it's uses but it's an obstacle to inner exploration, the deeper you go the more you'll notice how useless it is. understanding on the other hand i hold higher than knowledge but in the end it is nothing more than another distraction.

It is based upon dealing with thousands of mistaken people; hundreds of investigations over a 30 year period that have all turned up empty; the fifty-some challenges here wherein EVERY SINGLE CLAIMANT WAS UNABLE TO DO WHAT THEY CLAIMED; the fact that Randi's Millions are intact (and every other skeptic organization's funds); my study of psychology that repeatedly demonstrates human's ability to fool themselves; the fact that I make a living in poker and backgammon using pure logic vs. intuition; and on and on the self-deception merry-go-round whirls...

Read up or do a search on 'Burden of Proof' and 'Proving a Negative'.

Why is it every single newbie wants us to repeat stuff that has already been covered endlessly without doing a lick of research? Is this now the spoon-feeding forum?
