Do blind people hallucinate?

Hey all,
I have a friend who has been blind from birth and is willing to trip our favorite mushroom(no im not kidding). My question is would he see visuals(CEVs) like the rest of us? Would it be overwhelming for someone who has never seen to see something?
He's blind from an eye problem he had since birth so i would assume the sacred mushroom would still affect his brain, creating visuals......?
Reading over that post it seems like an interesting question! Fd

Dude that sounds crazy.. I bet he'd see whatever he "saw" in his mind's eye.. amplified. I dont think it'd overwhelm him due to the fact that he NEVER had sight.. So he has nothing to compare it to.. It'd be his imagination amplified by the hallucinogen.. That seems crazy... Crazy as hell..

Make sure you look after him man lol. I can imagine it could be little scary if you can't see. Let us know how it goes, if he does it. I'd be interested to see how a blind person reacts to CEVs.

WOW, that's fascinating. I never pondered that possibility!
Oh yeah, do make sure to watch over him and care for him. Do be prepared if an emergency happens. Be wise, and let us know how it goes

Ya obviously ill be right there sober with him, just to make sure he stays calm. He smokes pot and has done low DXM doses so the altered state of mind shouldnt be a surprise.
Anyone else have any thoughts, theories or anything? Fd

It could be the same as a deaf person. Would a deaf person hear any audio hallucinations on a trip? I'm not sure, I'm deaf myself, but when I take my hearing aids out, it's hard to distinguish between silence and noise, especially when your head is buzzing. Well, perhaps all his (if he does) CEVs will be of images he's seen in dreams etc. I'm not sure if they dream or not either. It's quite interesting to think about. I wonder if he will see patterns of colours?

I used to know a kid who was blind. He smoked weed and drank alcohol. When he got high, he said he ate pizza and it was the best thing he's ever tasted in his life. He also said he kept slipping in and out of reality and thinking twisted thoughts. Shrooms would be interesting.

Make sure YOU NEVER LEAVE YOUR FRIEND ALONE WHILE TRIPPING. Hes already not dealing with a full hand, and shrooms could make doing things that are easy to us harder for him. I think it could be cool for him, and for you.

Yeah, please tell us how it went, if it does happen. I have always wondered about blind peoples inner experiences, especially those blind from birth. What do they dream? Interesting stuff
Good luck

A lot (but not all) mushroom imagery is from memory. Your friend will not have this to draw from. People blind from birth use their visual cortex to process touch. If they regain sight at a later date, they will never see properly, regardless of their optic fitness.
Back to your original question, your blind friend may have some overpowering feelings and sensations and interpret them to be "visual". However, he will NOT be able to tell you if he saw colors as he has no reference point.
The question will remain unanswerable.

I had a friend who lost his sight at 19. He had bit of a drug problem before his accident but afterword he became very depressed. He ended up using even more drugs. He didnt know what to do with himself and he also had a decent sized settlement. He ended up OD'ing at 22. Anyway he told me that he still got CEV's while tripping. He also said his favorite thing to do (besides drugs) was to sleep. Because he could see perfectly in his dreams.

Thats an interesting point. How could he see anything if his mind has no idea or preception of what vision is. How could he see colors if his mind cant identify them as something? How could he see a pattern if its something completely strange to him.
Since his mind doesnt know what vision is he may precieve things as visions when they arent. How could he describe what he saw, "it looked like a triangle"....oh wait hes never seen a triangle.....
This question is messing with my mind! Fd
