I think actually that a blind person would experience closed eye visuals and fractal patterning. This is because the images we see are not coming from our eyes, but are caused by misfiring neurons in the brain. Assuming that said blind person is only suffering from optic nerve damage, the image center in the brain will still be 'self oscillating' and thus generating those crazy fractals.

I'm not so sure. I was under the impression that everything we see is a result of light from the external environment hitting the photoreceptors in our eyes, which communicate with the brain. If a person's optic neveres are damaged, I don't understand how he/she could see anything, other than imagined forms within the mind, which isn't really "seeing" in the sense that we're talking about.

Damaged as they be, if they ever saw, maybe it's just a subconscious memory thing, between many other reasons which causes hallucinations while tripping.

And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

yea, like i said before, instead of "seeing" visuals on the back of their eyelids what if they see them in their mind. this would probably allow you to change the visuals just by thinking about it. the possiblities would be endless if that is true....

There was a link to a trip report written by a blind guy in one of the old threads regarding this. If I remember correctly it was mostly thought alteration, body sensations, and audio distortions, just like we get, just more intense... How can someone see if their eyes simply don't function? Shrooms are amazing, but not a miracle cure...

yes, i agree. but like i said before (and indeed like you just stated) if you lack intensity in one part of the trip it will be made up in the rest of the parts.
