Does anyone else get this?
Everytime after i meditate i get a severe ringing in my ears and distorted vision (like im tripping) for a few minutes.
It soon passes and it doesn't bother me i was just wondering maybe im sitting wrong and stopping bloodflow? (i sit in half lotus position)

Around 20 minutes max, maybe twice a day if i can, i usually exercise, eat, read, then meditate, so my bodys relaxed, fed, and my heads full of nice things to pop into my cleared mind.
Ive found i dont really get as ecstatic/connected with awareness from meditation as i can from just relaxing and thinking about a subject like awareness etc... i find when i clear my mind i feel very relaxed after meditating, where as during meditating im just struggling to clear my mind and concentrate on breathing. Maybe its because of comfort, although ive only just started meditating and im sure it takes time to find the zone.
During the day ill get in half lotus and meditate, and feel relaxed after not during (probably cause i slouch alot and when in half lotus my backs dead str8) but before bed at night ill just lay there and breathe, then i get huge euphoric rushes of understanding and interconnectedness.

I must say, if you are looking for "the zone" you are not meditating.
the attitude has to be task oriented, not result oriented. there is nothing to look for. only to do.
it is bewilderingly and behoovingly simple.

Don't worry about becoming euphoric and feeling connected. These experiences will come and will go. In nearly everything we do, we do to get from A to B. To get from here to there. To gain or lose something. Or accomplish or acquire something. Meditation is not like that. It's simply being here and now. It's not even about going from less awareness to more awareness, though that will inevitably happen.
Just sit.

i knew that would bite me in the ass!
i knew it was the wrong way to describe it but what i meant is meditation is harder the first few times your doing it...the mind is to concerned with the material world and its attachments and attractions.
The only reason ive associated the bliss with meditation is because thats what i felt doing it before, i know i should have no expectation/atachment going into it but im new to it, my ego is still very much active in everything i do.

A lot of people seem quick to say what is and what is not meditation. I didn't know there were so many experts.

look again at what you wrote.
sounds like you've got a lot of standards and ideals for meditation. not that that's a bad thing mind you, we've all got them. It's part of being human. but you gotta be aware of them.

I get a very strange ear ringing a few times a year.
I've never really been able to explain it.
When I try nobody seems to understand.
Its like the smallest sounds are being shouted at me, even my own thoughts.
I don't like it when it happens. I don't understand it.

tinnitus i have it almost all the time but there is also the exquisite reverberant feedback version from having a resonant mind. resonant mnd is a side effect of meditation.

I looked up tinnitus, the description is similar although doesn't really seem to fit.
Can you suddenly hear normal things screaming at you?
Its like every thought I have is affecting my ears. I just can't really explain it.
It usually happens at night, when I lay down to sleep. It keeps me awake because even a ticking clock is loud as fuck.
Turning the clock off doesn't help because every thought I have is screamed at me. I even sense aggression in the sounds themselves.
It only happens a few times a year. Although I've already had it twice this year.

i get this with meditation too, it is as though a certain frequency is tuned into and along with it comes a very high pitched ringing
this sound is different from the normal ringing i get (tinnitus?)... it is higher pitched and lighter.

its your breathing. you are feeling the effects of hyperventilating. i'm very familiar with breathing techniques and i became very accustomed to hyperventilating while getting my back piece. just try to even out your intake and exhaust.
i get a hard on in my forehead when i meditate. no, really (and there's nothing erotic or sexual about it so please don't harm yourself by going there). you ever run into that?
