meditating on mushrooms?
    #541678 - 02/05/02 08:01 PM (23 years, 17 days ago)

has anyone tried meditating on mushrooms? i've just begun to attempt to meditate, and with my mind at ease it feels wonderful. i just realized how amazing this might be with some mushrooms, that is if you can calm and focus your mind. any input?

I do a lot of Aikido meditation, and I beleive it to be the best. I have not attempted to meditate on mushrooms, but have done similar. You should try it and find out. there's probably a lot of interesting things to expereince:) I sugest getting into Aikido meditation if you enjoy meditating, as well. It's really intense. Go to www.theaikidofaq.com(or .org, i cant remember), to learn more. Anyway, I'm to stoned to type.  Good luck with the meditation.

I tripped last weekend on just under 2 grams. On the comedown I meditated for aboout half an hour. It was very easy to get deep into meditation. This relaxed state coupled with the mushroom made for an intense meditation. At some points I came extremely close to astral projecting. There were sensations of vertigo and my whole body felt electric. I could feel hundreds of active chakras. It was an incredible experience.

My suggestion is to definantely meditate, but wait until the comedown when the mind is a little easier to control. Concentrate on the energy from the earth flowing up your legs and into your chakras. Imagine tearing the chakras open with imaginary hands, as if they are loaves of bread. Start with your base chakra and work your way up until all seven are fully open. The sensation of energy rushing up and out the crown chakra is incredible.

Have fun and let me know how things turn out.

I am currently working very hard at meditation. I have yet to try meditating on shrooms, but i am planning on a mental journey this weekend. I will let you know how it is, but I am already expecting great things. The power of meditation is great without those little magic mushies, and I can't wait to add the strength of a trip to that. peace

yeah it's bloody good fun!

I like to sit completely still immediately after eating the mushies and wait for them to come on that way, quiet breathing, observing bodily sensations and mental activity...but then again anytime during and after the trip is always wonderful.

sign me up!
i stayed at a zen monastery for a week and on my last night i ate a low dose and meditated during the onset with all the monks, seeing nice energy-flows in the carpet. lateron i meditated outside, fixing my view on a point and concentrating on the sounds. suddenly all the various different sounds blended into this overwhelming soundexperience. it was great. try to realize that you're right here, right now. it's good.

Ever find that it is difficult to focus your mind to commence the meditation? I suppose that is why it has been suggested to wait until the comedown. I believe I could do this, I've had a nice amount of experience with em. It's just, sometimes focusing on visuals externally can only do so much.... oh look a tree, oh look a star.... focusing internally could create boundless journeys and manifestations. I assume with the mushrooms it would become a very very deep session because of the mind expansion and the clearness and calmness of your body. also, do you recommend any music? maybe even low level ambient stuff? or do all you prefer silence? I'm very intrigued about what I've done so far with this, it's hard to even realize how wonderful it could be trippin balls.

I would highly recommend Hemi-Sync. or you can find things similar to hemi-sync at the cd store. Its like frequencies offset from each other that are inharmonic, one note goes in one ear and the other goes in the other, the inharmonic balance of the two notes creates a certain frequency in your brain that are used to access certain states of consciousness. One such company that makes these tapes and cds is called Brain Sync. They make different types of frequencies for different things, such as meditation, holding yourself in the theta state, deep sleep, and many more.
Robert Monroe (The pioneer of astral projection) was the first the develop this technique using music. If you can get ahold of his Hemi-Sync series of tapes then great.

Meditation, combined with this brain frequency music.... its a religous experience.

www.bwgen.com

I find this program to be quite interesting. Or you could use CoolEdit to create white noise, and use the hemisynch funtion. Either way, it's a pleasing sound.

I suppose spiritual masterbation like most of the things suggested in this thread might be enjoyable. But personally, I would be wary taking advise on chakra work from someone who calls himself "postanaldrip" or someone who says (I quote) "I work hard on meditation". And with things like hemi-sync, one is simply bound to end up in a zany monastery, together with Shroomism & Co.

Meditation is the process of letting go, not accumulating. It is the process of surrendering not acquiring. The power of mushrooms to put a flashlight on the trash in your head is just as big as their power to put more garbage in your head. Meditating on mushrooms could thus be a devastating experience just as likely as an enlightening one...

Hemi-sync: I heard from a hobbyist saying: this type are beat binaurals not frequency response. Beat is more brute force while FR is finnese, delicate and requires much more complexity. True binaural encoding is not possible on audio media because of it's low low frequency range.

Brain sync: same as above.

Holo-sync: not sure.. There's many CDs to go through. I'm guessing beat binaurals are given slowly over long periods in the process..

BMV: same as the first.

Mindtek: same as the first.

It's pretty much hit and miss with these products. Even if a certain product says its for theta entrainment, it doesn't mean the user's entire brain will entrain at that state.

Blastrid: eh, you're one of the first to actually catch on where i got my nick. funny.

gribocheck: i agree kinda. don't go shop for the latest gadgets and expect instant results, but i've never used hemi-sync, so i am not to judge and it might indeed help some people. it most defenitely doesn't do all the work. "work?", i hear you saying. make that no-work then. be an observer. sit calmly and let your thoughts bubble up without judging them. that way you'll calm your mind and make it what it always was meant to be: a tool, but not more. experience true being and you're bound to trashlessness. eh.

it can be difficult to focus your mind to begin meditation, or during meditation, whether or not you're tripping hard on mushrooms, right?

but it's always worth it, stick it out and see what happens...learning to fight through (sorry, maybe "relaxing through" is a better way of putting it...) the periods of boredom, restlessness, and pain is an important aspect of the meditation in itself.

It's the most usefull end you can give to a mushroom. Meditate, make questions to yourself, they will be answered one way or another. Sunday mornings with nature are amazing to meditate, be surrounded with nature on a sunny day, you won't be disapointed.
I like doing it alone with no humans near me, have you ever seen the ant trails reaching the end of the woods ?

Peace,

its easy to meditate on shrooms
cut out any external stimulii, you dont need music, forest, anything. all you need to do is sitdown, shut your eyes and listen.
things can work in a few different ways, maybe the voice starts up straight away, otherwise focus on the faint sound coming up into the back of your head, as you focus the sound will grow in volume, it is the ultimate in ambient music- i guess it is what some call the music of the spheres, all you have to do is follow this sound, it will take you somewhere.
if you feel like puking, focus your mind on the shrooms in your stomach, see them decomposing in your gut, keep focusing until you get down to the molecular level and you can see the point where the molecules are transforming, are being broken down, this is the point where you can enter into somewhere else, it will also calm the puke feeling. cos you wont be in your body anymore.
another method is to focus on a constant sound, a chant is best, but the whir or hum of machinery, like a fridge or air-conditioner will do. focus on the source of the sound, focus on the point where the soundwaves are being formed, either in your own throat or where 2 pieces of metal are rubbing in a machine. this point in space, where the energy is transformed into sound, is a kind of doorway. you can pass thru there, what you enter is up to you....the dimension of language, where thoughts are objects, hyperspace, 4th dimension, astral plane, somewhere else.

Best I can come up with based on personal experience & literature:

1...Low dose of mushrooms (about 1-2gr cubensis = ~6-25mg Psilocybin)
2...Your bedroom; darkened. Or under the stars; moon/cloudless (even better)
3...Lie down under a blankie or in a sleepingbag. (should be comfortable)
4...Don't give any direction to what unfolds: just lie there, just pay attention.
5...Afterwards write up insights, week later do same without having looked.

I myself add prayer & such to it but that's me.
I'm planning to post something in more detail about this on this forum.
