Hi Stonefellow, mjshroomer here. I picked some at Alor Selar in Kuala Lumpur, Malysia last year. I have posted several phtographs at : www.spiritplants.com when you get to this site, click on people then the forums and when the forum boxes appear, go all the way down the scroll untill you see Images and click on Mushroom identification, then Copelandia images. I think there are two threads there. Mjshroomer

thanks heaps for the link MJ, however i assumed that when u mention Alor Selar u actually meant Alor Setar which is a city in the nothern state of Kedah(many cows there) and approx. 2hrs drive to the Malaysian-Thai border, whereas Kuala Lumpur is in the central part and capital city of Malaysia. but i dont think it makes much difference since malaysia is a small country, so is it possible that whatever u found in Alor Setar can easily be found in Kuala Lumpur?(about 400km away and same weather condition) and it might help too if u can tell me which month u picked them. thanks again MJ. This baby Copelandia is less than an inche in length. I picked it in Florida today along with eighteen Cubensis'. Normally, when the weather is right for the Copelandias they will grow in a group of 3-7...1-5 inche long stems.

CHRISMATHE, Its good to hear your finding Copes too, I pick them in Manatee County, Fl.Heres a little description that I scrownged up today on Copelandias: COPELANDIA CYANESCEN---Found in early summer through late autumn scattered, grouped, or clustered on cow dung, or rich soil in Florida and other southern states. Spores germinate easily on all agar medium. Optimum growth occurs on MEA at 80 Degrees F. Carpophores can be produced on uncased compost or rye.
