ever experienced this?
    #784230 - 07/29/02 01:13 PM (21 years, 8 months ago)

I was listening to tools aenema and near the end at a really good part I get this really nice feeling in my head. Like an electrical/chemical brain wave or something. It feels like it starts in the cortex. Sometimes it travels down my spine and all through my body. It usually happens when i listen to music like tool or pink floyd. This time i got it to last like 10 seconds or so. I'm always totaly sober when it happens. Anybody else ever get these?

I feel similar sensations all the time. Usually while listening to The Beatles, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band and MMW etc.....

Not the chills not the willies but the warmies and goodies. I to have felt this. It makes me wonder about certain vibrations and frequencies and the human mind. Why is it that live music usually sounds better?

I too have experienced it... For me, if I concentrate on it, it makes a low rumbling sound, like a tornado or something. It sends ecstatic sensations pulsating throughout my head, sometimes it reaches the top of my spine and travels downwards.
I think it's kundalini energy...

I think everyone experiences the same feeling. I have learned to be able to create this feeling by imagining someone scraping a chalk board with nails. Of course its not as good as when i get it from my own thoughts! Music brings this tingling sensation too.

I Dont really get sensations, but a feeling of well being from music, but i do know what u mean by thinking of fingers scraping a chalkboard, when i was watching american history X the other day, i got this real weird sensation/feeling that made me cringe when he makes the black guy put his teeth on the curb, i didnt mind as much when he gave him the smiley but when it showed his teeth on the curb and u could hear it i was like uuhhhhhhh

Yes I too hear the rumble, it always goes down through my spine, then comes back up to where it originated. Mostly it happens when I can feel the emotion of another individual, be it human or inanimate. If the music has strong emotional context then the sensation can vibrate along with the pounding rythm of the base.

i definatly know what your saying the feeling you get when there's a part where the singer is so passionate or somber or angry....

i love tool they're so true to their music...
its the music where the artists are really true to the music they play....
they play the music that they really love...
so other people will have similar feelings and love the music too....
TOOL is really true to their emptions of music....
almost all of their fans are loyal diehard fans and mostly intellectuals...
thats because their creators are loyal and diehard to their music...
and they're definatly intellectuals....
they love the music that they play so people who listen and love their music are like similar to them...
so a lot of them are intellectuals and/or have open minds....
bands like slipknot papa roach limp biskit they arent true to what they do theyre an ad they try to sell their faces...
they play the music to whats popular in the crowd...
and they sell themselves...
theyre an ad gimic like pepsi or jack in the box...

I was once told by my dad that music releases endorphines.

Whether this is actually true or not I do not know, but it certainly feels good if it's music you like. Especially loud.
I guess there are many different types of endorphines...

I feel this also, I don't know if any of you have tried this, but it feels like when one of my charkas are stimulated. Specifically the top one. I only know this because I do a lot of work on it. And it does always happen with people like Moby during Animal Rights and whenever there is a lot of emotion put in to music. I used to do a lot of work with chakras and the like, and your spine is how the energy travel. Not to say that it's not a chemical reaction, I think it is, but I think it is the physical manifestation of a spiritual event. Chemicals bouncing around are still energy! It is also quite similar to the feeling you get when you roll the energy from an orgasm up your spine. (try it it's great)

I've gotten tingles before but it wasn't from listening to good music it was before something eerie happened kind of hard to explain. For instance one time I got tingles at the house I used to live at and the front and back door closed on their own. I used to get tingles a lot in that house and once I got tingles and had a vision in my head of a dead body in a closet in my kitchen. It really bothered me because the dead body was a teenage boy I saw sitting on a street corner near a brown derby earlier that day. I wanted to go back and talk to the boy for some reason I didn't know why. Further down the road a few blocks I saw two creepy looking men walking in his direction I got really bad vibes from the whole situation. Does anyone have any comments on whether they think there was something going on or if I was just imagining things? Does that sound crazy
