vacuum?
    #792351 - 08/02/02 09:18 AM (21 years, 8 months ago)

how about using a vacuum being very very careful to remove co2 from a terrarium? and then fanning? im sure this gets rid of a bunch of humidity too, but with an ultrasonic, shouldnt make that big of a difference, eh?

You could put the vacum on a timer, then get a small air pump from an aquarimum and use that to pump in fresh air. that would give you constant air exchange.
I would do this myself, but I haven't come across an appropriate vacum. The one I want to use pumps out hot air like crazy, and it sucks way to hard also. I would not want too strong of an air current disturbing the mushies. I am working on it though.
I am pretty sure that ultra-sonics don't really change the air. I read something the other day, but I can't remeber where I read it.

wouldn't the vacum let off tons and tons of dust & spores in the air when you are using it ??

In reply to Bob's post, I was thinking the same exact thing. PsilosKube's advice sounds more plausible.

The vacum would not give off dust and stuff because it would be sucking air out of the grow chamber. ALso, how would someone actually go about seting up a fish tank air pump to suck air out. The whole top of them is where the air comes into the pump, the same problems come up with that as compared to ultra sonics. I'm not saying it's impossible but I think it would be harder.
A few months ago there was a post called "I went away for two weeks and look what I came back to." It has detailed instructions on assembling an automatic grow chamber, it controlled the humidty, air exchange perfectly. I have been thinking about it ever since.
