If you do it wet you will have a mess in that bag you wish you have never seen. You can do it dry but they have to be craker craker dry and they will stay for a long long time and if you do get them so dry that you are sure thier is no water in them you can store them in the freezer for years. Well I did it for 8 mounths but im sure it wouls last for longer but I would just put it in the fridge the freezer kinda messed them up but the fridge didnt at all

I use a vacuum sealer after they have been fan dried and desiccated. I include a desiccant packet and oxygen excluder packet in each sealed portion. Fresh 'shrooms can only be held for a few days in the refrigerator veggie drawer before they decompose, but properly dried, vacuum sealed and frozen, they're probably good for years...

ya but if frozen they cant contan any water what so ever none cause other wise the water will expand and burst the mushroom cells thus be bad

That's why I specified "properly dried, vacuum sealed, and frozen...". The only other way (besides extraction or storage in honey) would be freeze-drying, which requires equipment beyond the reach of most...

My hippie friend uses this sealer.  Cracker dry shrooms and a desiccant packet (Found in beef jerky), seal'em up and store them in the freezer.

The only bad part is that when you seal them in the bags it crushes the shrooms all to hell,  but who cares!

The company that makes the vaccume sealer also makes large jars that are damn near air tight and if you store the shrooms and a dessicant packetet it works wonders
