GONNA gROW DA sHROOMS IN MY cave!

Hi Guys! Ok, so I'm in Hawaii, and I'm gonna grow some shrooms in my cave. the question is, what kind? see I know that pc's need light, so that kind of rules them out. I don't really want to visit every day just to shine a flash light on them for a few minutes.
It's very humid in some parts, to the point you can see the mist, and less humid in other parts, but near the opening here there's light, it's not very humid. So, suggestions?

Uhh every kind of active mushroom we grow needs some light and i dont think a few minutes is enough. Also if its your first time(which i assume it is) you dont want to try anything other than plain old p. cubensis. For outdoor growing just check out Moe's Oudoor Tek and follow it, you'll do fine as long as there is some sort of light....

Dig your hole in a humid spot, give it light with a portable florescent for a few minutes a day (after a couple of weeks). That'll work fine. Keep the spot moist until it pins.

I don't know about Hawaii, but every cave I've ever visited (even caves in hot areas), it was always around 50-60 degrees year round inside the cave. This is not very warm and would preclude most species. Why not do some research concerning temperature, humidity levels, etc. and then attempt to determine what should be done and with what species.

Hmm.. I hadn't considered temperature in caves, you bring up a good point... but considering that Hawaii is all volcanos, and there's lots of lava flowing under the entire area, I wouldn't be surprised if the caves ARE warm enough.

Why use a cave anyway? Any secluded spot outside is fine.

you dont NEED light to grow cubes. Terrarium in total darkness for a week still put off large flush

aw c'mon moe, you're supposed to school him on how hawaii strain was not found in hawaii, but originated at the pacifica exotica spores blah blah... yadda yadda.
