My T. peruvianus seedlings are looking mighty funny.

I think it is because their apical meristems have been hurt from cold. Not sure though, I don't think it's been colder than 8 or 9 deg C. They are indoors now and they are getting very limited light for the moment to get them to go back to a greener more healthy colour.

Seedling I presume. I've seen plenty of larger cacti looking like that. the ones with the "buddings" have marks at their grow tips. I'm guessing that it's cold thats killed the apical meristem and that that in turn has broken apical dominance.

I think you're right about the cold because there's def meristem damage. I had seedlings a little larger sent to me that were pupping, but it looked like the meristem was scraped out. Those are definitely the smallest cacti I've seen pupping. I wonder what the long-term implications are though. I'd like to see pics down the line.

What is the composition of that soil? It does not look conducive to good seedling growth to me.
