graft pictures of one of the seedlings, Williamsi or Friccii i don't remember which, onto a cereus. I'll have to get the cactus back from my mom's place and take another pic of it, it's grown quite a lot. almost to the size of a golf ball.

Here is another one, i believe this one is definitely a LW varFricii.

Fricii on a Myrtillo sitting next to Catha Edulis

Once I go pick up my other cactii/plants from storage at my mother's place i'll get update pics of the Cereus/Loph graft.

The odd thing is that the Myrt graft i expected to explode in growth, but it's not only grown to the size you see here and has been that wasy for the last two months. I'm not sure why, either dormancy or something has damanged the meristem and it's gonna start forcing out pups soon or is in dormancy since late summer. We'll see.

Sorry for the poor quality pics, but the focal length is set and i cannot take macro pics. The camera is an AIPTEK VGA pocket camera thing.

My peyote seedlings are coming along nicely.  I really don't plan on grafting... yet.  Since I'm substituting now I'm planning on buying some san pedro cuttings, seeds, and other stuff.
PS- I'll be getting a greenhouse by the end of the school year.

very cool neuro, a bunch of pereskiopsis can be a real time machine for all those babies! =)

I have my cacti seeds (Perdro and Torch) in a small rubbermaid , which is is inside my mushroom incubation chamber (85F) and my soil mix is the CLASSIC "nans mix", with sand on top, and the seeds were placed on the sand about 3 weeks ago.

I thought I had a sprout, but I plucked it days later because it now looks like a plant.
When they FIRST sprout on the surface of the soil, what do they look like?

and

Does my method seem sound?

Awesome

How long do these take to germinate/sprout?

Cacti seedlings, when they first sprout, look like fat little green blobs. They are easy to tell apart from normal plants, which have obvious "leaves" (cotyledons) when they sprout.

Your method sounds OK, but I'm a bit concerned about how long its taking. Last time I planted lophs, for example, I got ~50% germination in less than one week. About five days IIRC.
I've recently planted some pachanois though, and they are taking longer. ~20% germination after 17 days using the same method (16/8 light and bottom heat, in a little humidity box thingy).

My last pedros never sprouted, and I had them in a humidity tent, with proper lighting and temp, for over a month. I don't think the seeds were viable, or I had bad luck, or something :frown:

^^^What he said.

The time is getting on the verge of a little long, but it's not uncommon for some seeds to germinate up to 6 weeks after being planted. If you look at my pic closely you'll see some really small blobs that are only a few months old compared to the main seedlings there that are over a year old, plus the fattest one in the right foreground that was grafted and returned to the soil.

Seeds should sprout at their quickest 5 weeks at the longest and still on the reasonable side 3 weeks. Past there expect viability to decrease with sprout count.

I have been looking for pereskiopsis for weeks, but I couldn't find any in the U.S. I finnally found a vendor, but I haven't done business with him yet, so buy at your own risk. here is the link, http://www.bobsmoleys.com/index.html
If it all comes through, pm me, I haven't the money to try it yet, so tell me if I should keep looking.
