Stuff to watch/listen to while tripping (and my DIY projector)

I'm sure this has been covered time and time again, but I'm curious what stuff you guys watch or listen to while tripping.

I am almost done with a DIY projector setup (just need to finish the case) and plan on having a nice all night 2ct2 + psilocybin + cannabis tripfest with good surround sound and a high def 120" screen.

Here's a camera-phone couple pics from the VERY rough setup with absolutely no measurements (very important for good quality!) and no box.  Just tape, trash, and the projector pieces.





After the box is built, the image will be crisp and bright from all edges, picture will be bigger, color will be more vibrant, contrast will be improved, and won't have the horrendous light leakage.  The 450w metal halide bulb will light up the room QUITE well and drowns out the picture, but you get the idea.

Here's a video/song I found yesterday to start things off:

It's a Richie Havens cover for the Beatles' song "Strawberry Fields."  I usually don't care for covers, especially from already amazing songs, but this one I like quite a darn bit :smile:

It's a good example of the "mood" of music/video I'm looking for.  Relaxed, great, and mood-lifting.

Nice. I've looked into making a projector before but don't wana lay down even a few hundred $ for something like that. How much are those light bulbs?

Yeah, not cheap, I've bought all the "pro" fresnels and triplet.  Bulbs are $50, but cover the color spectrum VERY well and burn at a nice 65k.  I think total the project has around $400-500 invested in it?  I would have never started if I didn't get great deals on LCD panels at work.  Got this 1280x1024 panel for $44 at one of our employee sales :smile:

find a 720p projector for that price, with a bulb that can be replaced for $50, and I'll say you're right

Also, I will be able to easily upgrade to 1080p later down the road, or whatever else comes out

I'm the type that does stuff myself if possible, and this is one of those things.

The pictures above are in no means a good example of what the DIY stuff is capable of.  It's actually a horrible example.  I have a 1280x1024 resolution 2000:1 contrast panel that's going in my setup, much cheaper than retail and won't take up TOO much space.

I'm here for DIY shrooms, and have a DIY turbocharged DIY built engine car I'm working on as well.  Always comes out cheaper and much more rewarding like you said.

http://yhst-18925554572786.stores.yahoo.net/ll65k.html <- bulb I'm using.  Life is much longer than commercial :smile:  Thing with commercial is that it's made as small as possible for aesthetics.  Getting the same amount of light out of a smaller bulb means more wear on it.  20,000 hour lifespan for that particular bulb.
