Recorded yourself while tripping?

.. If so I'd like to hear from you!

I'm currently doing some groundwork for an album I intend to produce over summer and that means I need samples! basically if any of you have made or would like to make some recordings (pref. while tripping) of yourself talking about the mushroom experience, or anything mystical / spiritual I'd love to hear it.

I'm not posting this under arts and multimedia because I want to get as wide a response as possible. In the mean time you can hear my shroom inspired first EP **here** so you can see where I'm coming from. Have already posted this under trip-tips, but for those of you who haven't been there in a while, feel free to check it out

All contributions will be considered..

My friends and I recorded some of our 2nd acid trip on geltabs. We recorded the come-up. In the middle of the woods, Janes Addiction - 3 days BLARING and us TRYING to kick the hacky sack. It has the 3 of us just laughing hysterically at absolutely nothing. We went on a loooooong walk through the woods and down a ravine. All laughs man.....soooo fun, such pure, innocent and valuable memories to reflect upon. And the greatest thing is being able to watch it over and over again.....until bout 6 months ago the tape somehow got fucked up. :frown: I wanted to cry.

one time my cell phone some how dialed my buddies place. When i we got back to his place the next day we listened to the message. We where chilling in this backyard and we where ranting and raving about how this fucker needed to cut his grass cuz its way to long and us just raving on and on bout how it was like a jungle back there.

The next day wechecked out the yard we where in. heh iwas nothing special just like 1 tree and long grass hehehe. Good times.

i am working on something very similar with my own trips,
i haven't posted the new songs yet, but please listen to Myth for an idea.

i didn't want The Shroomery CD to be MY trip, so i asked for kind of the same thing, but know one has come up...

i use a little minidisc recorder that fits in my pocket, and a matched pair of Audio Technica binaural mini-mics that fit above my ears or in my hat.

the recordings, when heard on headphones, are very three-dimensional.

i have recorded myself tripping, trains going by, children singing, rides on the bus, TOOL concerts, etc.

my best capture is the pacific ocean...

exactly what kind of ambience are you looking for?

About 11 years ago I had just bought a new video camera. To try it out we had a party and everyone there took acid. Then we turned on the camera and just passed it around. I have about 2 1/2 hours of vintage video of a bunch of trippers all in one apartment. Some real classic stuff.

My favorite part is when this one guy has a moment of clarity in the middle of a discussion that revolved around all the drugs we were taking. He looked at the camera, realized we were incriminating ourselves, and said something to the effect of..."Boy, one day when one of us gets famous this tape is gonna make great blackmail material!"

Also, about a month after that I took about an hour of video of me and my girlfriend tripping together (in the same apartment). We had a roll of masking tape and a marker and we were going around the apartment labeling everything. When my roommate got home late that night he laughed his ass off. Then he sat down to watch TV and laughed even harder when he had to pull the piece of tape (with "TV" written on it) off of the screen before he could watch TV! For weeks after that I was still finding labels....."CUP" "SPOON" "TOILET PLUNGER" "DRAWER" "POSTER". It was pretty funny!

I like using the sound of oceans.. you may have noticed that on my tunes. so if you wanna send me some of that, that'd be great! But if you just talk about what happens in your mind, what you see, feelings you have, and record it, I can probably make something out of it. Even if you think it sounds embarrasing or whatever, set against the right music or processed in a certain way it would sound good!  If you know any girls who would be willing to talk about it that would also be useful cos the female voice is often more appealing in that context. But that's not too important.

I myself have tried working w/ samples of myself talking in the midst of a trip. I can probably send you a few that I've worked w/ myself. Mostly they are of me rambling at about 5am with random spews of thought.

I made a song while on LSD once...
I used a sample of this guy from woodstock or some such festival warning the crowd about the brown acid that's been going around...
I made it on my shitty old speakers so the low end of the mix was waaaaayyy too low and it doesn't sound right anymore on my nice monitors..  :frown:
