another aesthetic thread... with a twist.
    #7349565 -

I was thinking about how the older i get, the less shallow I become.... shallow in the sense of only dating hot girls/women.

It isnt the most scientific thing, but my appearance has remained constant for many years now, and I still can get some pretty hot women, but it is becoming less and less of an issue.
Im not sure if It is because I have become jaded by past experiences with hot women usually being dumb, self-absorbed cokeheads.
Or maybe it is less peer pressure.

in high school, and even middle school, basically only the moderately to extremely attractive people date, and all the ugly people dream. The ugly fat girls refuse to date the nerdy losers and they both openly denounce the popular kids, but secretly wish for one night of akward groping with the elite.

Why is this? it seems that by that age we have a good bit of conditioning, but how much sexual/aesthetic appreciation conditioning do we have..... especially on such a large scale. i could understand a group of kids that were shallow, but damn, ever single high schooler is an extremely shallow person.

It may be just because I'm from a different generation, but this did not seem like such a cut-and-dried issue when I was a teenager.

Though I was homeschooled, the majority of my friends & boyfriends were not, so I heard all the gossip about high school dating.  The dynamic I heard repeated most often was this: either the boy or the girl falls deeply in love, and their partner does not feel the same intensity.  They have sex, date, immerse themselves in the social scene, and then the less-invested partner moves on.

This seemed to be the case across all attractiveness boundaries.
