at first it is difficult to hold the semen in, as it is a powerful force... but exercise that muscle often and it gets easier. You can orgasm multiple times without letting your shit out, and there are levels of orgasm you can reach.

Charles Luk's Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality, or The Secret of the Golden Flower by Richard Wilhem? Taoist Yoga like Hindu and Buddhist Yoga works metaphorically. Clearly, semen itself cannot leave the reproductive-urinary organs. In Hindu Yoga, similar things are said about semen retention (some yogis can apparently snurffle the semen into the bladder, preventing it from leaving the urethra).

The semen, like the breath, is a 'carrier' of chi or prana. When a Thai Buddhist practice I read yesterday spoke of bringing the breath down to the intestines and the bladder, the author explained that it meant 'the feeling' that accompanies the deep breathing. So, visualization and concentration are at work here, and so is chastity - not allowing for sexual stimulation and relaxation to occur dams up a good deal of inner tension (note how strong an orgasm one has after not allowing one to occur for a while, and the copious seminal emmission that accompanies it).
I practiced celibacy for 2-3 years at a time, at different times. My 20s were the worst time to attempt to enforce that of course, and more difficulty arose because that practice was contrary to biological, psychological and social processes that are normal for a non-monk!

These practices are intended for the true renunciant who must master the sex drive and sublimate the energies from outer 'dating' to inner transmutation. Nocturnal emmissions are still going to occur because one is suppressing and repressing sex into one's Shadow (opposing elements to one's conscious attitude), and the Shadow always has its say, one way or another. It doesn't just 'go away,' it accumulates and builds strength. Note the particularly poignant examples of televangelists who then get caught acting out their repressive Shadows: screwing female and male prostitutes while being wasted! This is the great misunderstanding behind repressive Christian doctrines. The Middle Way is not grasped, absolute moral constraints are imposed by threat of damnation as one attempts to "Be ye perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect," while yet being an embodied-ego! One either needs to be asexual in nature, have a very low sex drive, or else go quite mad or act out. During one of my celibate periods in seminary, I would often get a migraine that lasted from Friday night til Sunday night as I stuggled to stay in my room instead of going out looking to get laid. Self-control and chastity in particular is an important virtue worth cultivating, perhaps more so in a relationship/marriage then as a single person for whom spiritual pride can result from 'just saying no.' Violate the sanctity of monogamy and you will hurt your partner, your relationship and in some cases reap the wrath of a partner cheated on.

I think this is slightly dangerous thing to do if you do not have proper instruction from someone who has real experience with these practices. You can read these things in books now, but back in the day these were very secret practices, and for good reason. You can really screw up your energy system if not done correctly, just reading it in a book. this goes for Toaist, Buddhist or Hindu practices linked to the retention of semen, and redirection of energy.

Have u read Robert E. Svoboda's Aghora, At the left hand of God.

I got to know about conserving sexual energy from it. In Ayurveda and other Indian traditions, it is known as Ojas.

But that book scared the beejesus out of me..:eek:

Well, practicing Kegel exercises http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kegel_exercise as taught in the book Extended Sexual Orgasms was a modern rendering of using physiological techniques for affecting one's sexual apparatus. Of course, the claim was the ability to produce ridiculously long (20 minutes or more!) sexual climaxes.

As I said, much of these techniques have a metaphorical side, the intention being to sublimate psychophysical libidinal energy into psychospiritual experiences. This is often a case of 'fake it til you make it,' in the sense that during real psychospiritual states (some of which are evolved in some people during Entheogenic Excursions), sensuality and sexuality are NOT the predominating modes of mentality on the psychedelic "spectrum of consciousness." Those usually interesting states of arousal are wa-a-y-y-y down there in the body-consciousness, whereas in high psychedelic states, body-consciousness can be extremely diminished while hyperpranic (highly energetic) states allow one to experience more predominantly energy-consciousness identities. Visualizing these energetic interior pathways has a lot more 'reality' when one's system is highly energized. If Entheogens are not employed, a more natural method of energy accumulation is necessary, and dammed up libinal energy is a classic path.

I agree about being taught by a practitioner, but this is not exactly an easily available possibility. Some experimentation is then in order, taking precaution not do do oneself any harm, and knowing when to stop.

The semen itself does not leave, but is transmuted into energy for the higher centers to utilize.

It is important to clear the microcosmic orbit before practising semen retention and sexual energy circulation. If your meridian points are not cleared, then the sexual energy gets stuck and migraines or feelings of pressure build up in the head is experienced. That is why I practised meditation long before attempting this sort of inner alchemy. Nature is also good for clearing the microcosmic orbit.

Sometimes while practising this I will get a slight sudden migraine or pressure build up in my head, but I can release it. The feeling is like an energy bursting out my crown, and there will be flashes of light (third eye?). Or I can bring it down to my heart and out comes love and euphoria. Then down to my navel and a deep sense of connection with the external world or energy is experienced.

how are they secret practices? It's all intuitive and instinctual just like stretching is. Sure yogis know more about stretching than a little kid who just does random things, but...
do they really?

It is not good to ejaculate. It is good to have multiple orgasms and feel real pleasure and satisfaction, while keeping all your vitality inside yourself.

The circumcised male masturbating for a 1 second orgasm that involves the expellation of fluids is in more danger IMO than the person learning how to balance himself on the peak, but

i think it is much better to not contract the muscles, rather simply STOP at the right time and relax, so that the muscles begin to spasm, fluid enters your penis, but does ejaculate out, then you have the ENERGY and it is not all bundled up because you are clenching your muscles and your body tightly, and then it is pretty easy to send the energy upward by intention.

This is very dangerous to those who don't know what there doing, I have read cases of people going completely insane from the pressure build up in the head. They have no idea how to release it or circulate it down to their heart or navel and it just gets worse.
