acid potency on sugarcube-how long does it last?

i got some acid on sugarcubes that has just been sitting in my drawer for a month in tin foil. The person I got them from said they were strong as hell and i trust him but when i took one hit it wasnt that strong at all. Could the potency have dropped at all because I left the cubes in my drawer?

I have sugarcubes wrapped tightly in tinfoil that have been in tupperware in a freezer for over 3 years. I ate one recently and it was good as gold.
