First time grower. Need advice.

Okay, now that I got my order problems sorted and out of the way. Do you think Alacabenzi, Ecuador, and B+ is perfect for a first time grower? I have watched this video on Google called, "Mushroom Growing Made Easy", it seems relatively easy. I know most of items I need, from watching the video. I would like to know any information you guys can give me that would drastically help my first time grow with these strains. I plan on growing as soon as I receive my order in the mail. Any advice? Thanks.

try going to a wallymart and picking up some pollyfill.

If you're doing pint jars, use the pollyfil in the inoculation holes and drill an extra hole for micro spore tape.

As long as sterility conditions are met, it seems to work fantastically at keeping contams out. The 8 jars I knocked up are doing wonderfully with no spots of contam.

strains really dont hold much bearing as they are all cubes and pretty much require the same things to grow. Some maybe more tolerant to high temps or what have you but being cubes they will all need lots of fresh oxygen and plenty of humidity. I'm sure you see this alot but from the newest person to the person with a 1000 post if they wanna know something around here, all can use the search function the same and read away until their hearts content... There are post and teks on this site I have read at least 10-50 times just to get myself more familer with them, somethings come as second nature now, some things I still read like a girl about before I ever attempt them. I guess to make a long rambling short read MUCH and ask whenever you need something this community is a great one, welcome to it and good luck on the future of your mushrooms..

Seems most people prefer Rye/WBS with hpoo

I wish I could get my hands on rye, so far most of my attempts at LC and WBS have not went the best. So at this time I'm still mixing PF cakes with horse shit, sounds crazy but it's something I know works. I have all the jar and lid setups for expanding to WBS/RYE whenever it comes to it but dont think if you can't get one or the other to work bulk grows are not for you, just spawn those cakes with poo, I can tell you once you do so you will never wanna try growing another cake in any other manner.

Don't laugh at me now, but what does WBS and hpoo stand for/mean? I assume Rye means Rye seed, lol. Any shortcut links you can provide, would very much be appreciated. I tried searching for WBS and what it means, but with nothing to be found. Thanks.

Okay, I have glanced at the PF-Tek, and both Rye-Teks from RogerRabbit and Magash. I wish there was a video or something for that prep you mentioned above (RYE/WBS w/HPOO). I was planning on using the PF-Tek method, but now I have changed my mind. I would like to use the Rye seed method, because of the bulk amounts of substrate. Which Rye seed method is best Magash or RogerRabbits? I just want to grow with as much ease as possible. Also, would any of you watch the video on google called, "Mushroom Growing Made Easy", and clarify how accurate it is, please. Thank you.

If you really wanna be able to watch something that is complete in every aspect of mushrooms cultivation spend the money and order RR's dvd as it has all the bases covered. I honestly cannot say which tek is the best as far as RR and Magash, I think both teks work well but once again I have never got my hands on rye to try and work with and with rye you are almost going to need to get some LC's working and that is a different ball park all together.. I would advise being new to this you try the PF tek as it was created as a way for the novice to get mushroom grows under their belts. Once you produce this way it helps you with little things that can go a long way in this field of knowledge..
