**URGENT** Is 70% isophoric alcohol good?

Hey everyone,

I went to 3 drug stores today looking for 91% or 99% isophoric(sp) alcohol for sterilization and couldn't find it The best i could fine was 70%, is this usable for sterilization?

Its urgent because i need to use the alcohol tommorow and i need to know if i should look for better.

Actually there was some research that the 70%m iso-propanol is better for desinfecion than the 90%.

Use 99% or 91% for flaming your needles, 70% for sterilizing.

You need the alcohol because usually after you flame the needle it will have some carbon on it (black shit) so wipe it off with the alcohol.

Will 70% burn if i wipe the needle with it and try to burn it off?

There's nothing inherently wrong with a lighter. If I keep lighting it, after a while it can get a little hot - sometimes I'm a little clumsy and touch the metal part when it's hot(ouch), and I hate those child protective lighters. It's easier to use a little alcohol lamp with a wick, that way I have both hands available. I prefer alcohol to kerosene or a candle because it burns cleaner.

I always heat the needle until it is glowing red.....am i making a mistake?
