Actually, that's true even under currently accepted evolutionary theory. Look up "Mitochondrial Eve." According to the current theory, all humans living today have a single common matrilineal ancestor.

so incest is like a "great" sin in most religions right?

Well, the commandment against incest doesn't come until the time of Moses, so many have said that God did not prohibit incest prior to that time(I wonder if that commandment might have had to do with their former captors, the Egyptians).

and i used to be catholic, its not really viewed literally

i have a good friend who is very intelligent, great grades and a 32 act score

correct me if i'm wrong, but i dont think any of the 10 commandments have anything to do with incest. unless it was just in another part of exodus at around the same time as the 10 commandments?

yea, we're all brothers and sisters.

but incest with close family members isnt good for the genes supposedly.

Not really, no. Incest is not an either/or thing. It's a gradient. All people are related. In fact, all life on Earth is related. The question is how closely they are related. Under US law, anything beyond first cousin is not considered incest(President Franklin Roosevelt married his second cousin). You're probably only about 10-15 hereditary steps away from at least half the people you meet.

The "10 commandments" aren't the only commandments in the Bible.
