I know one person IRL who tells me they "Don't believe in dinosaurs".
Her basis was that she doesn't believe scientists, and has never personally seen any real fossils.
Then later in the conversation, I explained that I have personally excavated dinosaur fossils.
Her reply was: "Oh I believe that way back, there were animals that are much much larger than we have today".
I literally face palmed and said, "Yeah, that's what a dinosaur is".

We can only make our best attempts with the information we have on what seems to make the most sense. However, faith is in opposition to that, by its very nature. The Denisovians are a recently recognized hominid species, and part of their DNA as well as 8% of the Neanderthal genome contains unknown hominin DNA. Who's to say Adam and Eve aren't the original ancient primate ancestors, and the image of God is more like a monkey than a human?
