I'm afraid if i ever came across a place like that i would not be able to control myself. the farmer would wake up to an empty field and i would wake up the next day with a room full of boxes of pods.

yeah i thought about doing that, but i cant have a load of scored pods at my place...
having pods is ok if the pigs decide to bust me again, but scored pods are a different matter...

im drying the 100 ish pods i got last night, but there are plenty more where they came from...
if they havent harvested them all by the weekend the pods are gonna be massive!

i spotted the field back in may before they started to flower...
its beside the road between my place and my parents place so i drive past quite often.
funny how one field of green plants caught my eye over the rest...
first time ive seen them growing poppies round here so it wasnt expected at all...

the only bad thing is that it started raining ALOT as soon as they came into flower,
and since then it has rained hard nearly every day...

I'm confused about the use of those poppies, meaning what are they being grown for...are they ornamental? (pardon my ignorance, not sure about UK laws)

that particular field is being grown for either pharmaceutical companies or the government...
not sure which, but id guess its for the pharmaceutical companies to produce morphine and whichever other drugs are derived from opium...

100% legal to grow poppies here...
many people grow them as ornamentals, but do not realise that they are opium poppies...
when one starts scoring pods or extracting the nice stuff, then it becomes illegal... i think...

it's the same down here in tasmania, we have fucking paddocks everywhere (only place in aus that grows poppies as far as I know) here are some pics of a field on my way to work.


are those thibaine poppies?
