Endless Big Bang Theory
    #713183 - 06/30/02 02:01 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Image the Big Bang starting out as a very small object.

The universe starts from that point and expands.

Some believe that one day the universe will stop expanding and it will come back on itself.

If the universe comes back into itself and then re explodes in EXACTLY the same way, and the same energy and pieces go in exactly the same direction they went the last time the big bang happened, then the earth would form exactly the same. So we would be here doing exactly what we are now the next time this happens, and the time before and the time after and after...
I
If that makes sence anyway?

Cheers

It will not be the same if only because free will exists.

does free will exist? I personally think with the idea of free will, it doesnt exist. Think of programming.. Lots of if()else() if this happens, and this happens, and this happens, but this doesnt happen, but this = 1 and this happens, then do this. Only more complex. If its 12:00 pm and you are having trouble with your wife, and the tv is xx volume, and certain past events have happend...They you make a choice depending on what your mindis thinking. No one can predict the future, because we dont know the rules. Every little thing possible changes the whole outcome of everything. There are so many factors thats its impossible... But starting from such a small thing, and expanding. 1 option is easily controlled. And if you wrote the rules, you know how the world will end in billions of years if you spendd the time ti figure it out. God? So if we did start all over, the the circumstances were the same when starting(whatever they may be) then i think it would all be the same.

"there is the theory of the moebius... a twist in the fabric of space... where time becomes a loop........
whatever happens will happen again..."

ooo i love orbital... but anyways... this is essentially the moebius theory...

this i believe is more plausible since it shows how the last big bang occured. also, this means that the universe isnt neccessarily 14.6 billion (i think) years old. thats just the age of the last big bang. how many times has the world stretched out and collapsed? this makes the world infinately old. however when you throw a ball in the air, it expands away and collapses back from gravity. but the force makes it go out again. yet the ball doesnt go as far as before. it slowly loses energy, then stops. we can measure how quickly the universe expands, and eventually how it collapses. then we may be able to figure out the rate of movement and then with the distance figure out the time. with that we can keep increasing the rate to the point that the origin of expansion is 0 and the collapse rate is

I think the Chaos Theory would come into play here. Even if 1 atom out of the infinite numbers of atoms that would be in play as you describe, had even the slightest different tilt than it did in the previous 'BANG' would create an entirely alternate Universe.

Kind of like the 'Butterfly Effect' where a butterfly flapping it's wings in one part of the world could cause different weather in another part of the world.

I'll have to think some more about your idea tho. It's interesting.

well this might not make any sence and it might well be pointless, but i dont care.
where is the end of these solar systems of stars and planets.how do we as people know that the universe is expanding,it
all doesnt make any sence. as in point,if there was a wall surrounding all the stars the planets, and everything else supposedly around earth, what would be behind that wall.there would always be something behind it ,it couldnt just stop, well
ill just post this piece of shit and watch myself get made in fun.\

to all of you who laugh at this piece of art,and think im just another patty wack, screw you.

up until last year everyone seemed to think that a big bang would eventually be followed by a big crunch, because of gravity (since anything with mass somehow exerts an attractive force on anything else with mass, even through a vacuum, no matter how far away...which is crazy enough in itself when you think about it). but last year the folks with the big telescopes and fancy computer programs and databases came up with a very surprising discovery!

suppose there's a big bang, and everything flies off from the central point really really fast, there's no friction in space so there's nothing to slow it down EXCEPT GRAVITY. so therefore everything should expand (get further away from the centre) quickly in the early years, then gradually the expansion will slow down due to gravity, right? right. with their big telescopes looking at supernovas (exploding stars, which are really bright, makes them good things to keep track of...using fancy astrophysical maths and stuff they can work out how big the stars are/were, how far away they are, and most importantly how long ago they actually blew up) the astrophysicists whose names i don't know noticed that indeed, the matter in the universe DID expand rapidly in the early years and it DID gradually slow down...but then to everyone's surprise it actually sped up again! so everything blew up, expanded fast, slowed down due to gravity and then sped up again due to "negative gravity"!!!!!

so now it looks like there might not be a big crunch, just everything getting further and further away, stars dying and going dark, everything getting really dark and cold and lonely, floating off into space.

but who's to say there aren't an infinite number of big bangs happening way way off in the void?

I have finally solved the mystery of the big bang...

it was me, myself, your momma, and all of your female relatives, after i was done i let your male relatives have a go...
then bivalve got them as they slept...

about the "endless" part of the big bang....well.... your momma kept begging for more but i gotta rest sometime..

I like the idea -- it's the kind of thing that should be true, if you know what I mean. But singularities don't have memories

Ive never heared, let alone seen, K-PAX starring kevin spacey so I havnt nicked their idea. I came up with this diea when I was about 12.

Thing about free will etc. If the event leading up to the situation is the same then there can only be one outcome. Say you come to a cross raod and you can choose left or right. Some say in one reality you go left and in another you go right, but this cant be right because the events leading up to the situation are the same. Whateva complxities in your mind make you choose the one direction will always act the same at that moment.

Classical Hinduism intuits this process of an eternally expanding and collapsing universe. It is all a day in the life of Vishnu who dreams the universe into being, and when He awakens, it is reabsorbed. Modern cosmology parallels this idea with the theory of the Oscillating Universe. Other questions are born from the potential collapse, for example, will time run backwards if the expansion has stopped and begun to pull together? Is there enough gravitational force between space-time to cause a reversal? What about 'dark matter' that is just being discovered, and may make the bulk of the material universe?

And lastly, what about novelty - the novelty of the Creator? Space-time spewed forth from a 'Singularity,' a 'mathematical point,' smaller than an electron, at 10 to the -43rd second after God said, "Let There Be Light!" Do you think He would want to watch the same movie all over again?! I don't think so.

free will is a very interesting topic, i believe we have free will i just dont believe we posess the consciousness to produce that in our realities, not yet. I have free will in the sense that i could kill myself right now, but do i free will that i may fly around the earth in my body? i believe free will is total and utter frredom to experience anything and i believe that situation is possible and that evolution is designed that way, yes i believe that at some level we as the human mind are aware of every situation and circumstance we have created and that we have done it for a reason, to become aware of this would produce ultimate free will and that is the experience i am striving for, heaven on earth, yet i still see the perfection in every circumstance of the now, i simply make my intentions known to the universe how i wish to experience my next reality and accept whatever comes because i understand that the experience is enevitable whether it comes here on earth or at death.
