Yield for brick of coir! ???

Is 3 to 3 1/2 ounces dry a good number for 1 brick of coir spawned with 3 quarts of wbs?

That's an awful lot of wbs for a single brick, isn't it?
I used 1/1, and did well with it-- ~2 oz I think-- didn't weigh it all.

Buy another brick and double your crop :wink:

Thats not to much spawn, coir turns into about 32-38 cups with water, the quarts probably have 9-10 cups so thats about 1:4

9/36 simplifies to 1:4 if I am not mistaken :smile:

Just trying to gauge how I am doing, its only about 2 and a half flushes though, mean green always creeps in to ruin the party :frown:

And a 1-to-4 spawn/substrate ratio is standard, last I checked.

You have been here sine 03 and still don't know the answer to this question?not trying to be rude or anything but man there is no possible way to judge yield.wayyyyy to many factors the only way i would say that you could figure out yield from dry ingredient's or what not is to have an isolated strain and be doing this for at least 10 years to get a fair amount of practice/knowledge.even port growers estimate yield and still don't get there numbers correct off by 20 pounds or even 50 at my work.

You should get that much from the 3 quarts wbs alone.
So no, 3 to 3 1/2 ounces dry wouldn't be great.

Actually no,I use 2-3 qts of spawn for every HALF brick of coir

I use 10 gallons of colonized rye mixed with a couple tablespoons of bagged steer manure.  It works even better with a tsp of verm in the mix.  You have to go easy on the verm though, it can make your shrooms TOO potent real quick.
