Hello everyone... I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best TEK for producing max yield for Equadors. I really need alot of shrooms so i can power up in Mario brothers :-p anyways, what does everyone think the best TEK is for growing equadors (cultivating, casing, etc...)

Buy some DB Compost and use rye or PF cakes to spawn it, then case with 4 parts peat 1 part oyster shell. This is what i did and i only used 1 inch of DB compost and it produced good results. Next i will be doing 3-4 inches of pasturized horse dung, and spawning it with clonized rye grain. Buy some DB compost its the shit!!!!!! You will never go back ........

It's too bad the DB compost is like 100 bucks for 15 pounds. I mean I know it works extremely well but there are much cheaper alternatives to large yeilds IMO. If you just do one case of quart jars with rye berries you'll have a shitload of substrate. A lot of people have trouble with rye though so I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. just my 2 cents

I think his post says not using a bulk tek. I dont know about compost, but manure may give you some big shrooms and is cheap and easy, but if you can afford it, millet is the highest yielding. If you use the same amount of manure or millet, you'll get more off millet in terms of weight by heaps.

Best substrate? Common, everybody who has ever grown is going to have a different answer to the best substrate. For example, are you really telling me that millet yields more than rye? Or mixed birdseed? How about red milo? Barley? Or a 9 grain blend? etc etc. Truth of the matter is that any whole grain substrate yields better than a vermiculite cake. But nobody here has done enough truly scientific tests to rule out variables and state that one grain yields more than all the others. Just pick a cheap and easy grain. Yields will be increased more by optimizing the parameters using cased mixed birdseed than they will buy using a different grain. If you want yield though, you really should consider bulk. I recomend shroomgod's straw tek. On a small scale, it's not anymore difficult than grain culture, and you can yield far more. So far as casing goes, I liked coir better. Some people have a few problems with moisture content etc, but I never did. 50/50+ is good though, I think the difference is more in speed of colonization than yield. and coir is easier than mixing 50/50. Stay away from potting soil until you are ready to experiment some.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
