Follow me on a guided imagination exercise.
Consider first a normal human child of healthy body and average mind. Now consider that from birth, this child is trained to remember his dreams and write them down in detail, and to share them with his parents.
As a result his capacity to dream increases throughout life and he never fails to recall them in depth upon awakening.
Now imagine that at some point in his development he is trained extensively in lucid dreaming techniques, until he gains the ability to become aware when he is dreaming and thus to control his dreams and shape them to his will.
Now imagine that this same child is given access to a computer of great quality. On this computer in addition to knowledge encyclopedias, academic libraries and search engines, is also equiped with a variety of Massively multiplayer online games/domains like second life, world of warcraft, asheron's call, EVE online, etc, and from birth this child is encouraged to explore these various online realms at will.
Now on top of this imagine that this child is given access as s/he grows to a variety of mind altering chemicals that s/he is taught about, trained in and eventually experiences under controlled settings.
S/he ingests throughout her development mescaline, DMT, psilocybin and psilocin, amanita muscaria, ayahuasca, ibogaine root, salvia, LSD, MDA, etc...
Next imagine that this child is also trained in yoga, meditation techniques, shamanic chanting and drumming, martial arts and dancing, breathing techniques...
And now let us propose that she is also given access to and training in biofeedback technology, such as the WIld Divine Project...
And lastly let us imagine that this childs caregivers never subject him or her to the cultural programming that indoctrinates us into losing touch with our spiritual, shamanic and natural capacities.
She is never told that dreams "arent real" or that "drugs are bad" or that "if you dont believe in god you go to hell" or any of that propagandha that wieghs us down.
What you now have is a single human conciousness that is capable of at will traveling to a huge variety of other realities. This human is demonstratably and inarguably capable of at will experiencing either the unaltered physical present, or else an infinite variety of lucid dream states, or else a huge spectrum of meditative realities, as well as a wide selection of virtual/digital realities, as well as a huge range of chemically modified realities.
i find this possibility very interesting. I think it is obvious that mainstream media culture propagates a certain world view that whether intentionally or not has the result of isolating us from our human capacities and potentials. We begin to accept a dramatically reduced range of possibilities and futures without even realizing what we are losing.
We begin to dream within an incredibly narrow frame work. We accept that yes, if i work hard enough, and get lucky, i might JUST be able to retire at 50, marry a pretty lady and go fishing.
But we cease to entertain our childhood dreams that yes, i want to fly through the sky, astral project to mars, and slay dragons on jupiter.
We accept these notions as childish, impossible, foolish, delusional.
What we fail to realize is that when we nit together shamanic mental techniques with modern chemisty and technology, we have all the tools we need to experience literally ANYTHING THAT CAN BE CONCIEVED.
Once the technologies of drugs, visualization, lucid dreaming and virtual reality are tied together, we have everything we need to set ourselves free on a journey of unlimited imagination.
We can not only move 2 dimensionally, through the physical world but multi dimensionally, to different worlds, and back again.
This notion is likely to be dismissed by most established ego forms. Most established ego forms are living in worlds that they have custome designed for themselves over decades, invested huge energies in, and made large sacrafices for.
So my preposal, that they abandon their shell realities and dive headfirst into an unlimited sea of transphysical experience, is likely to be met with fear, derision and skepticism. Why would i want to do those things? im a grown up now.
But for our theoretically proposed child, for whom such outlandish technologies are not novelties but the daily substance of life, will grow up learning to adapt and understand these technologies in unprecedented ways.
We are witnessing the birth of a new generation of neoshamans, who are using the unique possibilities of the modern world to expand the very limits of what we consider human.
Omniscience, immortality, omnipotence, eternity... all are rapidly becoming tangible futures.
The most basic structures of reality are falling away. Geographical space and physical resources become increasingly irrelevant. With this comes a radical restructuralization of power structures, which, given a bit of luck, could be truly democratic.
The human citizen, given a certain basic modicum of financial independence, becomes a mighty power. A 15 year old teenager can hack the pentagon or blow up the world trade, or else form a non violent movement that sweeps the nation.
The powers that be are worried about this. They know they cannot rule a nation of awake beings who are aware of their unlimited power. The wonder of it is that while in past ages the tactic was oppression and terror and suppression, in today's world the primary tools of control are pleasure and entertainment to induce passivity and placidity.
Now, this puts the modern human in a truly remarkable fix.
He can either embrace his new possibilities and potentials and become an empowered, awakened, multi dimensional, magical being, or he can remain asleep and be encompassed in a thick blanket of pleasure and entertainment peddled by the free market and the state.
Now if you ask me, either of those situations are pretty alright.
So whatever happens, be happy mon!
