Nonactive ID Request

Found these in my girlfriend's front yard earlier this month.

Location - Northern Illinois (Hour south of wisconsin border)

Habitat - woodchips/mulch around oak and pines as well as around garden

Cap - Tan; turns white probably due to sun exposer ... Cap becomes saucer like as they mature

Stem - Fibrous in appearance; tan/white bruising to darker brown

Gills - White or tan (leads me to believe that there may be two similar species)

Sorry no spore prints - maybe next time

Activity? Probably not.... I'm just curious as to exactly what these are... for I have no idea

Also - is there any other way to upload my pictures without them looking like ... shit? they look alot better on my hard drive

prints are important for id, the steps must be followed maticulously, or you're off track.

That being said, I think they may be a Hypholoma species.

And did you resize your pics?

I just uploaded them to the site from my hard drive, I'm sure they were resized automatically

apologies for the lack of prints, at the time I was in the midst of a horrifyingly busy week... I had been staring at them when I was out having a smoke for a few weeks but never got a chance to do any more than just that - I snapped a few pics before leaving for work and the next chance I had to go out and look again they were too dried out to make it worth printing... There haven't been any more since
