I print mine...when the cap is almost flat...the edges of the cap are still rounded just a bit...but the rest of the cap is getting pretty flat. Hard to describe but after you have seen the shroom like that you will recognize the right time easily. After this point the spores start dropping in mass. Good Luck.

A cap is ready for printing shortly after it breaks its veil. Let the cap open up a little, but don't let it flatten out. Basically the cap is ready once it is 1" or so above the veil.

Exactly Shroom Mage, just before it flattens out. If its too flat, the spores will stick to the caps when you lift it up.

Just before maturity when the margins of the cap start to turn up and as the gills darken.
