Quick incubator question

So i came across a couple large rubbermaid containers today......Figured on turning them into another incubator....only problem i can see with this is that when a quart jar is put into it there is only maybe a quarter of an inch or less of space betweet the jar top and the lid of the container.....my question is... will this be a problem? there is some space there so i dont thing it would block air exchange..... How big of a concern is the air content of the incubator? Or what is the ideal "air environment' i should be going for...... Any input appreciated...

that sounds fine...I cant see any problem with it. An incubator is for keeping the temperature of your jars optimal so the mycelium can grow the fastest. The air environment is not a major concern in an incubator. In pf jars the dry verm layer will be good enough for gas exchange and also prevent contams from reaching the nutrients in the jar. i asume you have pf jars.
