2 questions..

Alright, I have 6 hawaiian Pf jars going and 3 are almost at 100%. Heres my questions, Do i need to expose the 100% colonized jars to light to trigger pinning? and number 2 question. When the cake is removed from the jar after signs of pinning, does the dry verm layer sit on the jar lid or face up?

Why are you trying to pin your cakes while they are still in the jars? Are you growing Invitro? As far as I know(which isn't far), You're supposed to case your cakes before pinning... But what do I know, I'm a newbie too.

i take my jars out to permenant light when there 95% colonized then when there 100% wait a week and birth even if there no signs of pins , you can give it another couple days to see if pins appear
When you open the jar and scrape away the dry verm that side sits on the bottom of your terranium , so the top in actual fact becomes the bottom

I assume your going ala PF Tek and inducing light to your jars so you can get some pins forming then transfer them to your terranium where you will finish off the cycle correct?
If so - Yes start exposing them to light right now.

On your verm question Im not sure what you mean - The verm should be resting on top of your cake - What I do is go the foil aka Ramsey Seal Way so theres no mess. But what you wanna do when you birth it is just scrape off the verm on top and put new verm on the top or bottom or your cakes if you want to when you throw them into their terranium.
