Proper Birthing
    #696258 - 06/23/02 02:00 PM (15 years, 3 months ago)

I have read conflicting statements that when you turn the jar over to birth the cakes it is important to turn them over again to their original orientation so that the original top is the top and the original bottom is the bottom. Somehow the shrooms know where the original top is and will try to grow in that direction. So if the original top is now the bottom they won't be able to gorw.

I am doing an inner moisture reservoir and all the TEKs I have read state to inject water from the original bottom. So which is it??? Any help would be appreciated!!!

Obviously you never touch the cake with your hands. But in my experiments it always seems to fruit better right side up (i mist the vermiculite until i see pins a LITTLE BIT everyday) but try it both ways i'm sure you have at least two cakes.
PS. i'm sure you can figure out how to flip the cake without touching it.
