Use an eraseable marker to circle the ungrown area. This will give you a real way to see much they've grown.

They always slow down after getting mostly colonized, and its a drag. If you get to antsy you may start to imagine they aren't growing at all. The marker circle will let you know for real, no mind tricks.

I've had a few jars do this very thing. Sometimes it seems like they just stall out. If there is a small patch at the bottom of the jar that is not colonizing, you can flip the jar and rap it on a table to make a space between the cake itself and the glass. If that's not the case, then what you might try doing is just birthing them, cutting/scraping off the uncolonized portions, and casing it, or even growing straight off the cake if you're planning on taking that route. I've done that several times with great success.

IT could possibly be lack of gas exchange. If you have tape over the holes take it off, the mycelium should be able to fend off any new contaminations if its close to full colonization. If you don't have tape.. try loosening the lid a bit, or flip it upside down etc. They probably just need some good ol oxygen. Good luck

Jump up and down and scream hipopotimus 30 times, while stroking your pet dog. BTW do this naked in front of your house during your neighbours block party while trpping. Trust me this will help.

What it worse then watching them not grow is watching them grow contams.

Do what Lares says, flip 'em over. The marker idea is a good idea too!
