IMO - Shrooms are ALOT easier to grow...just depends on how good you want ou bud to be. Anyone can toss some bag seed in a pot and give it water & light. Not difficult. BUT, if you want to really grow GOOD bud...it can be fairly complicated. AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON EXPENSIVE FEMINIZED SEEDS! They are NOT guaranteed to be female 1st of all, and 2nd you are bound to screw up your first attempt and do you really want to waste the $$$? Want good seeds...go here http://www.seedsdirect.to/frame.html. If you are going to grow bud just start with bagseed til you get the hang of it. When you do order some I recommend some Rooi Bart or an F1 hybrid like Cali sunrise or sumthin. And yes, htp://www.overgrow.com rocks!

Doing both right now. Can tell you that despite the need for cleanliness and worries of contams, Shrooms are easier and far more rewarding to grow.

Of course that could be cuz I've smoked so much that I'm actually bored with pot these days.........

it depends what you want my friend has produced about a pound of northern lights in about four months.(northern lights #5 no smell at all). he also has produced 2 pounds of mushrooms. in about 3 months. ok lets look at they price comparisn. weed about 1500 us dollars for all equiptment. and for mushrooms. about 100 us dollars.note. know ing that he didn't need all of trhat epuiptment for the weed but it made it that much better. the more money you put into growing weed the better product your going to get. there are many different gadgets to make sure of optimal conditiions. trust me you will see. it is not always the same way with mushrooms except the fact of buying flow hoods if you want them.ok from his time spent doing each hobbie. when he was growing weed for four months. i didn't see him much except when i went over there. he was in that room so much he was finding himself wakeing up the next morining in the growroom. people asked why he had sunburn in the middle of winter.when he was growing shrooms he is all over the place i see him everyware. he said he checks them like once a week and when preparing and inncuolateing jars, prepareing casings. takes about 4 to 5 hours out of the four months. so weigh those options. see what ya like better

cost too much to start growin pot. if you grow the right way that is and invest in metal halide or hps lights, containers, soil, nutrient, paint or reflective material for grow room, and depending on your location and size of your crop you get into co2 and odor eliminators and all that crap. light cycles, and a light proof grow room so light off cycle is completely dark to promote good flowering, etc. etc.
too much hassle growin pot, just go buy a cutie and toke all month!

ok i am growing both right now i spent alot of money on a hydro unit and i spent alot on a light. i got 10 female white widow for 100 dallors. only 9 sprouted. but right now there about a week away from harvest. i have about 1 and a 1/2 lbs worth. i am going to sell 1 lb for 3500 and keep the rest for personal. i spent about 1500 on the unit, chem., timers, lighting, and seeds. i will make out but i will say one thing so for the 5 gallon buckets with dirt. fuck the hydro it is a pian in the ass. and it is very expensive. the seeds are worth the money though. there are so many crystles on the shit. anyway i gow both to keep myself happy. both have there ups and downs. smell is not that bad though.

Well ive been growing both for almost 12 years. It took me 9 months to pull off my cube harvest. There was no internet at that time. I got my live culture from the fmrc. Steve Peele I think.

It took me three months to grow my first sellable weed. With all the money from weed sales I could buy plenty of mushies. I think weed growing is more fun anyway. You can share it with your friends everyday. www.overgrow.com

Thats true, but acording to Ed rosenthal (High Times/Canabus Cultivator) You can get all female seed from a stressed out female plant that polinates it's self.

When ya get a real good bag of chronic and find only a couple of seeds, the odds are that they are female seed.

What Ed really says is that you can get FEMINIZED seeds from hermi plants that started as a female. This does NOT mean you are guarenteed they will be female plants. It is just as likely the plant would turn out to be another hermi, which still has seeds...just not as many. So, Jammer...when "ya get a real good bag of chronic and find only a couple of seeds", chances are that bud your smoking came from a hermi plant. Not a bad thing...still gets ya high...just has a few seeds in it. Still IMO, you are wasting your $$$ buying feminized seeds. You will have a 1:2 male/female ratio with normal seeds which is fine by me. Not to mention, IMO you get better yeilds with normal seeds.

Thats not what I recall Ed saying in his classic growing guide (often called "The Bible"). Not all plants are hemprodites. However most any female plant can be stressed to the point of dieing (can be done by hacking the shit off of the growing shoots/buds) and it's instinct to pass the strain on will results in male and female flowers.

As another user has sited here that ALL of the "female" seeds that they purchased were females.... how does anyone produce such a ratio? As far as I know stressing out a female plant is the only way.
