Yes, this is true. I may have a wrong definition for spirituality. I was raised very lutheran christian, and now am very skeptical of my religious traditions and teachings, so I may have a sore spot against any kind of 'god' figure-- my apologizes to this forum for letting my biases get the best of me.

Thought, consciousness, and free will are all science. It's all just electrical impulses from the brain. Isn't it? How else can you explain these three activities?

I guess you are looking for something specific like a mathematical equation, i can't give you one. Science has gotten as far as saying tht it is all"electrical impulses and chemical reactions" but thats the end of story on their part. If energy is the ability to do work then thought could then be defined as energy, energy in its purest form. Energy that causes those electrical impulses->chemical reactions, energy that was before those electrical impulses/chemical reactions. I dont know, just an attempt but its all in good fun;)

For me it's just lifting the veil, seeing the beauty, knowing what it is to be human, being able to apreciate...and psychedelics (for me) aid in that, no equation needed although i enjoy trying to figure it out as well.

mushrooms are what confirmed my belief in GOD, or THE higher power. I guess it was the exchange of information, the state of mind, the reminder I got from them that GOD is a state of consciousness to be experienced. Call it what you will, as if experiencing chemicals and electricity couldn't produce such an experience?? That is what we are working with on this planet. Question is how do you validate the experience for someone who let some one else define GOD for them. I am quite frankly bitter that this is the case.

I recommend reading 'DMT: The Spirit Molecule' by Rick Strassman. He's a research scientist that did the first permitted study of psychedelics since the 70's. He's got a pretty interesting perspective, and from what I remember a pretty neat way of reconciling the science/spirituality dichotomy.

Wasn't that whole DMT being released in the brain thingy later exposed to be highly, highly speculative and with no scientific basis in reality yet at least, or am I way off here?

Yes it's true. So I read too.
Anyways, this book is something as close as possible to something like an official conclusion and a very good read.

I read the book and Mr. Strassman admitted that his whole premise was pure speculation, but I found it to be entertaining.
