Well, the veil broke on the healthy shroom, so I just picked them both. But I'd still like to know the answer to this question in case this happens again.

Anytime you open a wound on a shroom, the chances of contamination is increased. But it sounds as if you are so close to the harvest of the main shroom...no problems.

Yeah I kind of have a similar question. Cause I always assumed the shroomies would grow singly off of the mycelium. How wrong i was.

In my first groups I had 3 of approximately the same size all growing from the same 'base' fungus growth. (pic attached below)
Considering the veils all broke at the same time I just harvested them together. But could they have been harvested separately? Or, if they grow together do the veils always break at the same time?

The opposite situation is more of a problem. If you have to harvest a mature shroom that's growing near some pins, the pins are likely to abort.
