Hi everyone,
first off I am a newbie grower, just looking to grow some nice beauties for my friends and I this next year, and stoked to start up here soon.

Anyway, is there any good tweaks to up the harvest from the brp/verm? The PF tek said you should expect 4-6 mushrooms from each cake!? That doesn't seem like that many.

I see all these pics with like 20-40 shrooms just growing strong...is that a different substrate or what?

What you saw in the pics were casings. Check out the grow/find section of this site for a bunch of easy casing teks.

Since you are new to the wonderful world of mycology, don't expect the world. To begin, take it slow. Get a feel for the mushroom life cycle. Larger harvests and better trips will come with love, time, and lots of patience.

Cakes with more than 8 healthy shrooms growing on them are not the norm. Being your first time, 4-8 shrooms on a cake should be reason for celebration. Many never make it that far their first time. It's just like any other hobby, practice makes for perfection.
