I use a heating pad and it works perfectly fine as long as your temps are god your golden just be sure it doesnt suck the moisture right out of the jars! I have two towels layered over the pad to prevent this

If you want to tho i was thinking you can buy wet heat or moisture pads which would use moisture to heat the jars which is more efficient and better

Addict and Em are right. It will suck the moisture out of the jars. I lost I don't know how many jars due to that when I first started. But now I use fish tank heaters for everything I need to heat. And I again agree with Em, I will never go back to pads. (that sounded like a tampon commercial...HA).

I'd use fish tank heater method imho heating pads really suck they do work though! Like everyone said though the bottom part of the jars dont colonize as fast with the heat pad because my never do they always finish last - Id say place your jars with the pad if you dont have a heater setup atm then just transfer them - Im going to build a fish tank heater incubator and still keep my heating pad one for time being maybe replace that with a fish tank heater because my actual incubator is a draw on my TV stand

What if someone were to make a setup to use a fishtank heater.. but placed a heating pad under the container with the water instead.. and had something holding the container with the jars above the water.. Wouldnt that work as well as a fishtank heater?
