Heating Pad/Fire

i threw a heating pad in a rubbermaid box i had laying around and checked the temp, it was just about right to store jars after innoc., but I was wondering if anyone has had any troube with fire and heating pads? it would be nice if i didnt come home to a smoking pile of rubble.

I've found that heating pads heat pretty unevenly and get way too hot to do much good. Unless you have a nice thick layer of perlite on the bottom, the heating pad might just cook yo shit

That's not a safe thing to do. Heating pads are not made to be left on continuously (as opposed to reptile heating pads, aquarium heaters, etc..). The smoking pile of rubble tek sucks man. Don't go there.

Believe in yourself, keep an open mind and enjoy a spirited sense of adventure.

Use a yogurt heating pad, they are perfect for fermentation and fungus colonization as well, i've been using one with a book above to get the right temps, allways on, no prob.

Thank you all for saving me from "smoking pile of rubble tek"..
Have had heating pad under styrofoam.. living dangerously...fungus is happy though
Just ordered a reptile heating pad.. whew!!!

You could also use what I use for my plant seedlings/cuttings a propagation mat.
