For the 2 rubermaids and the aquarium heater, do you need to have something to protect the heater and the plastic, doesn't it get to hot?

hmmm....maybe i'm a bit young and not cautious....but i just don't see how a heating pad can be a fire hazard any more than you could have a electrical fire in your house anyway.
the way i see it, the heating pad will distribute heat throughout stuff, the key words here are dissipate and distribute, if you could actually see the heat moving you would see that it moves out from the source, it doesn't NORMALLY condense in one spot and start a fire. and unless it's very old there's a low chance that the wireing will fuck up and start a fire. i just don't get it.
