Unfolding Nature Shop: Unfolding Nature: Being in the Implicate Order

Alternating Personas
    #6424421 -

The Dictator Of Reality has yielded the throne. I was going to use a picture of myself as my avatar, but wasn't sure if it would be a security issue, so I'll rely on the cosmic Jesus avatar (as opposed to the vintage one).

What does this mean? Nothing more than the simple fact that I've had the current "skin" for awhile and feel ready for a change. I do think, however, that the identity/appearance affects discussion on a subtle level. It is a presentation, and through a medium that conveys a limited amount of information of the identity of another, I think we might, on some level, read into this presentation and form our perceptions of another's posts in regards to this.

I think we assume a role as an archetype through posting here. Our existance is not as a human being here, but as an archetypical construct. Our presence here is only as much of a reflection of our human nature as we intend for it to be.

This is probably more of a P&S post, but I was contemplating certain points expressed in this forum as I came to consider this. I'm interested in understanding the reasoning and causes of what occurs and of my own behavior.

Clearly, we assume for ourselves the identity established by our actions and the thoughts that bring them. Why do we choose the role we presently carry out?

"How can I keep me from moving?
I need a change of scenery.
Just listen to me
I won't pretend to understand the movement of the wind
or the waves out in the ocean
or how like the hours I change
softly, slowly, plainly, blindly..."

I can't answer your question because I nor anyone else knows. But I can tell you that we end up where we do whether there is reason for it or not.

Ever feel overwhelmed with the immensity of the present moment? The acute sense that the simple fact we are aware of existance, of existance itself, is incomprehensible? I'm not talking about the "Why?", but, rather, the "How?". "How?" is much more of an altering question to ask, in my opinion. "How?" can be demonstrated to be relevant to the present experience, as in, this is occuring, thus it has to be occuring somehow. "Why?" could only be relative.

not really with the present moment, no. Moreso by what I am conditioned to see as the future, but it distracts me from being in the present.

But I see some of what you mean. While "how" does correlate more directly to questioning than "why" (in this sense at least, discussing existence itself and not action(s)), does asking "how" not distract one from the now, which should be used in overcoming what is behind the "how?" or "why?"? Or are you purely speaking about understanding only?

My last post relates to becoming more aware of the present moment, and reflection, developing understanding, as one is fully immersed in the experience of the present moment.

I do not consider it a distraction, more akin to a natural result of being aware in the present moment. I suppose it could be referred to as Gnosis, to establish more frame of reference.

I think that, as we become more aware in the present, we become more aware of the nature of our surroundings. I think that this awareness subsequently produces the question of "how", or "by what means"... awareness brings one to seek more awareness of the nature of reality.

" Why do we choose the role we presently carry out?"

Some of it is determined by unconscious processes, and some of it is our conscious choice. I think that determinism and free will operate, or better yet cooperate to form our psyche or soul, and that this cooperation is 'guided' by a yet higher organizing factor that many people from time immemorial have referred to as spirit. I think that the word spirit has essentially come to mean 'consciousness' in modern times. Unconsciousness, subconsciousness, consciousness and superconsciousness all contain the root word 'consciousness,' and so all of the degrees of self-conscious awareness (or lack thereof) are on a continuum in the human being, with superconsciousness melding into the "Ground of Being."

The Ground of Being is where human motivation becomes notably metaphysical. It is a point or an interface (the Greeks called it 'nous') wherein the spirit of a human 'emerged' from the Spirit which is the Ground of Being. On a metaphysical level, the whys and wherefores of human motivation ultimately derive from this Ground which is the creative aspect of 'God' or the Logos. Paradoxically we must still choose one side of the duality. Good and evil seem to divide from the Unitary Ground even prior to the birth of humanity. (I put this in the Present tense because mythic time is perpetual - not an 'event' that occurred in time).

The great mythic rebellion in 'Heaven' in which Lucifer [Light Bearer] and 1/3 of the Heavenly Host fall from the very Godhead indicate this division. The division suffuses the entire creation even though the invented doctrine of Original Sin seems to place evil in the human motivational sphere. The mythic fall suggests that the division of Good and Evil occurred before humankind existed, and thus the very Ground of Being (Godhead) either designed it that way or was as incapable of preventing a metaphysical cataclysm as poor Adam and Eve, or mythic parents were incapable of NOT listening to 'the Serpent' on the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil! Here then are Western archetypal determinants of behavior, rooted in the Collective Unconscious. Transcending unconscious determinants means choosing, it means free will over determinism. This moves us from the periphery back towards the Transcendental Source.

What of you and I?  I choose to squeeze all those determined unconscious processes 'upward' into consciousness, like squeezing an emptying tube of toothpaste (using techniques ranging from dream analysis, to psychedelic trips, to active imagination, etc.), and then subject the whole mind to superconscious scrutiny - the Eye ('I') of God under which we can be purified, burning off the dross and leaving Gold. It means seeking the Light, exposing the dark stuff,  transmuting what can be transmuted and burning off the rest. The aim is to make Compassion the Master Motive, the Spiritual Master, and from that mystical apperception, Knowledge will flow, Gnosis type Knowledge that easily informs us how to manifest the Light through our everyday roles. Those roles that do not shed Light, simply have to be left behind for this kind of transformation to occur.

Along The Way, I have found that many everyday needs and desires are met, simply through defocusing on them. The Bible says: "Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven and its righteousness, and all things will be added unto ye" (in the King James English), and in principle, at least in my life, this has been the case. Being true to the process of Awakening, after my failed ascetical approach, fleshed out my empty and austere existence.

Hey, ask me where to buy tires, and I'll describe a whole process for Vulcanizing rubber!

Peace.

i find this to be a very interesting statement: we're all ideas here.

that makes the internet a very fascinating thing, because in one way it's merely an inter-connected network of hyperlinks, but in another more profound way it can also be seen as an entirely different world, as a cyberspace, with us traveling in our own little cybercrafts, decorated with colorful memes and jungian archetypes.

it's a vast world of the minds, where the body is left behind the computer desk. :mushroom2:

nice to see the dictator resign, you certainly know how to shed your skin.

you're altered again.
