hello guys... unfortunatley it happens for me to be a newbie in the shroom world... anyway, today i started my life as a cultivator... 7 jars made with verm/brf shooted with an eq syringe. but i did 2 mistakes! 1)i created 7 jars with 2 syringes! this means that i put enough spores in each jar.is it very bad? 2)2 of the 7 jars were not sterilized... is it 100% sure that they are gonna die?
thank you folks, you helped me very much... and you still do! (sorry for my english,i dont speak the language very good)

1) That's probably too much. You can inoculate that many jars with one syringe.
2) I guess you'll have to wait and see. After seeing contamination in some of my PCed jars I'd say unsterilized jars are much more likely to be contaminated. Why were 5 jars sterilized and 2 not? Not enough space in your PC?

i left the 2 jars with no sterilization for experimentical reasons:-P i'd like to see if they'll be ok
but please someboday asnwer me to this: will the jars die just because i made 7 jars from 2 suringes?i know that i could make many more jars from 2 syringes... but are these gonna die just because i inoculated too much?
thanks in advance guys

they probably won't die from spore-overload, but injecting that much is bound to throw off your moisture level inside. do the jars look waterlogged?
take care! good luck... -bizarro

your most likely to get a bacterial contamination because by using that much spore solution you made the water levels higher than they should be as for the other two jars they will probably be contaminated within the next few days i would call this one a loss order a new syringe but keep your prepared jars and see what happens anyway if you see anything or smell anything it would be best to throw it away as soon as possible next time just go by the book and after you get a few grows under your belt then you can experiment a little bit read all the faqs read as much of the posts in both of the growing forums as possible and be patient...youlll get it eventually

No...they wont die, but the ones you didnt sterilize are already dead.

I did a little experiment awhile back.
I left 2 unsterilized 1/2 pint jars out... to see how fast they would contam.
3 to 4 days.

ive innoculated half pints with half a syringe of sporewater and most of the access just trickled down to the bottom where i had a dry verm layer = still colonised no problem - cubensis are not called forgiving for nothing!! Ive also innoculated unsterilised brf in shot glasses - lost three and one was okay - just luck a guess...

well the 5 jars that you steriled have a much better chance....than the 2 that you didn't sterilize.
I figgured out that you put just under 3cc of spores in each jar if you had 10cc syringes. (2.8571428) to be exact..lolzzz hopefully they won't be too wet and they will colonize. there is a chance that they will get bacterial contams from being so wet.
How long has it been since you inoculated the jars?
And are you seeing any signs of mycelium (white) ?

If you don't see any growth in 10 to 14 days at all.....you probably won't.
If you see any growth at all.....let us know.
good luck!

the unsterilized ones are doomed, no doubt at all. the others should make it ok, assuming the using extra inoculant was the only other mistake you made.
