Under the thumb/Everyone needs a good woman

Ive been single for a long time,,, and ive let myself go..
I drink too much and i'm generally self destructive ( though i enjoy it fully ! ).

I just passed my driving test and now my best female friend needs a lift somewhere so she can buy some paint for her house..
That's cool and i'm willing,,,
But we had a drink tonight due to special circumstances, and when i drink it's usually an all nighter...

I said i'd get up for her,, which i will, but that's the first time in ages ive had to control my own habits for a womans needs...

In reality it's healthy for me to go to bed abit earlier and get up to help her..
At the moment i guess that's benefiting myself (logically because of my ways)..

If i kept on doing that for her though before you know i'd be seen as being under the thumb...

No one wants to be under the thumb,,, but men do seem to need a good woman to keep them straight....

Where the fuck is this line because i'm missing it ..
I know she's not my girlfriend but the question still remains..
